A Fun-Filled Staycation at Marriott Riverhead!
Hello from the News Team at Autisticana! We just wrapped up our second incredible staycation on Long Island, and we can’t wait to share the highlights with you! This time, we checked into the fabulous Marriott in Riverhead, where we enjoyed a stunning two-bedroom suite that felt like our home away from home. With all the amenities of the Residence Inn at our fingertips, we made the most of our stay! From the indoor-outdoor pools to the relaxing Jacuzzi and well-equipped gym, there was something fun for everyone.
Our young adults had an absolute blast working together, writing articles, and just hanging out. The energy was infectious, filled with laughter and creativity as they embraced the wonderfulness of each other’s company!
The next day, we kicked off with a packed agenda at the Long Island Aquarium. What a fascinating place! The kids snapped tons of great photos and produced a wonderful news piece focusing on the aquarium’s sustainability efforts and its commitment to serving its community. One of the highlights was definitely the Butterfly Room, where everyone had the chance to interact with these delicate creatures in a stunning, vibrant environment. Such a real-life classroom! Plus, the kids participated in exciting activities that taught them about marine life and conservation.
After our aquatic adventures, we set off to the charming town of Greenport. The history here is rich, and we had an amazing time visiting the old jail and exploring various historical points around town. It was like stepping back in time! The carousel ride was a definite favorite, bringing smiles to everyone’s faces as we laughed and enjoyed the ride together.
To cap the day, we treated ourselves to a delicious dinner at a delightful local restaurant. The food was not just great; it was a wonderful way to celebrate the day’s adventures and fortify our spirits for more fun!
For many of our team members, staycations like these are incredibly beneficial, especially for those who might not feel safe or comfortable traveling too far from home. This was our second delightful staycation, and we’re already gearing up for our third adventures at Legoland, New York!
