When the 1st Period started, Luke Pavillard of Australia raced for the ball and won possession of the ball and gives it to Marcus Berehulak which took the action shot but it was saved. Then Enzo Khasz of France got the action shot but it was blocked by the Australian Defense. After that, Ugo Crousillat took the action shot for France but it was however blocked by Australia. Then Michael Alexandre Bodegas was caught for a turnover foul. Meanwhile, Milos Maksimovic of Australia took the action shot which it was saved by France. Therefore, Angus Lambie of Australia took the Centre Shot Goal as the Sharks takes the lead 1-0. Then Remi Saudadier of France was caught for turnover Foul which Chaz Poot of Australia took the steal. In the meantime, Enzo Khasz of France took the action shot but couldn’t find a way to put France on the board. Lastly, Marcus Berehulak was caught for the Centre forward position exclusion and it wraps up the 1st Period.

When the 2nd Period started, Romain Marion Vernoux has won possession for France and gives it to Michael Alexandre Bodegas while he took the Extra Player Shot Goal to put France on the board at 1-1. Then Ugo Crousillat of France took the Counter Attack Goal as they lead Australia 2-1. After that, Michael Alexandre Bodegas took the Centre Shot which Australia was able to save it. Then, Mehdi Marzouki of France was caught for Field Exclusion. Meanwhile, Angus Lambie took the Extra Player Shot which France was able to block the ball from going in the net. It didn’t stop Australia when Milos Maksimovic took the Counter Attack Goal and tied the game at 2 apiece. Then Marcus Maksimovic took the Extra Shot put it was blocked out of bounds. Then Matthew Byrnes of Australia took the Action Goal as the Aussie Sharks lead France 3-2. Before France ruled the Timeout Call, Michael Alexandre Bodegas of France and Chaz Poot of Australia were both called for a Turnover Foul. After the scenario was finished Blake Edwards of Australia was caught for Centre forward position exclusion. After that, Emil Biorch took the Extra Player Shot Goal for France as it was all squared at 3 apiece. Therefore, Blake Edwards of the Aussie Sharks got the Extra Player Shot Goal and took back the lead. After the celebration from Australia, Alexandre Bout of France was caught for a turnover foul as Milos Maksimovic was able to steal the ball. Lastly before Halftime, Charlie Negus too the Counter Attack and it was saved by France. The match went to Halftime as the both teams drawn 3-3 to get ready for the 2nd half of the match.

When the 3rd Period started, Jacob Mercep of Australia won possession of the ball and Pierre-Fredric Vanpeperstrate was called for Centre forward position exclusion. Then, Jacob Mercep took the Extra Player Shot Goal for the Aussie Sharks as they lead 5-3. Then Mehdi Markouki of France took the Extra Player Shot but it was blocked by Australia. Then Ugo Crousillat of France rebounded the ball and took the Shot but it ended up hitting the post. After that, Milos Maksimovic took a strong Action Shot Goal with the excitement as the Aussie Sharks advantage the lead 6-3. In the meantime, Matthew Byrnes took the Action Shot which it was missed as well as Alexandre Bout for France which the shot was saved by the Australian Goalkeeper. Then Blake Edwards took the 6 metre direct in free throw situation but it was missed. While Australia had most of the procession of the ball, France took the Extra Player Shot by Alexandre Bout which it was saved. Then Thomas Vernoux of France took the Action Shot as it was hit by the post. Romain Marion Vernoux of France was caught for Centre forward position exclusion. After a quick Australia Timeout, Luke Pavillard took the Extra Player Shot as he swirled his arm the other way to give the Aussie Sharks the goal as they lead 7-3. Then Blake Edwards was called for Centre forward position exclusion which less than 10 seconds later, Marcus Berehulak was called for Field exclusion. After that, Ugo Crousillat scored the Extra Player Shot Goal as they moved closer to the fins as France were still down 7-4. Meanwhile, Lachlan Edwards was caught for a Turnover Foul and was sent off for a Red Card with substitution. After the situation was cleared by, Enzo Nardon of France took the Extra Player Shot which it was blocked by the Sharks as they bite their way to help Australia defend France for the scoring opportunity. The moment didn’t last Emil Bjorch of France who took the Extra Player Shot Goal as Fans began to roar the energy at the Aquatic Centre getting hyped up. France has became more competitive with the chance of getting the goals and shots of target while down by 2 with the result of 7-5. When Mehdi Marzouki of France wanted to take the buzzer beater shot, which it was missed and France still had time to creep up onto Australia’s defence while getting ready for the 4th Period.

During the 4th and Final Period, Matthew Byrnes of Australia won possession of the ball in the Sprint but he did miss the Action Shot as he was going to get another goal. It wasn’t long when he got caught for Centre forward position exclusion. Then Alexandre Bout of France took the Extra Player Shot and got the Goal for the Frenchmen as them down by 7-6 which it could be a nailbiter for the Sharks. Milos Maksimovic took the Action Shot but it was however saved by France. As he tries it again, he passed the ball to his teammates and waves the ball in circles and then took the advantage goal for the Aussie Sharks has they lead 8-6. Not for long when French Player Emil Bjorch took the extra Player Shot Goal as the fans of the home nation as gotten excited for the close game. Then Luke Pavillard of Australia Took the Shot on Goal but it was somehow missed. Then Blake Edwards of Australia was caught for a penalty foul but the Referee had other plans to review the play of the foul call which he made the decision that Australia got a Red Card for serious foul, After that, Thomas Vernoux of France took the Penalty Shot and it was saved as the ball flied up into the air as the goalkeeper screamed for some excitement. Then Enzo Nardon took the Action Shot but it hit the Post. Then Enzo Khasz got the Counter Attack which it was saved and did it again when he tried to get the Action Shot but it was saved by Australia. Pierre-Fredric Vanpeperstrate was caught for Field Exclusion and Red Card which he was substituted out. After when Australia took the timeout, Milos Maksimovic was caught for Turnover Foul as Thomas Vernoux was able to steal the ball. It didn’t last when Michael Alexandre Bodegas was called for a Turnover Foul. After that, Luke Pavillard did a 6 metre direct shot in the free throw situation which it was missed. Then Nathan Power was caught for Centre forward position exclusion and was Red Carded out to the substitution. France then took the Timeout to find new strategies after the close moment of the match. Then Enzo Khasz took the Extra Player Shot but it the post and flied out into the air. Then Chaz Poot took the 6 metre direct shot in the free throw situation and got the winning goal for Aussie Sharks while leading 9-7 with 24 seconds left on the clock. The fans and the players around the Aquatic Centre were excited as it was a thriller moment for Australia. While France may have one last chance to get the late drama to find a way. Charlie Negus was called for Centre forward position exclusion and Red Card with substitution. Ugo Crousillat took the Extra Player Shot Goal as there now down by 1 point with 6 seconds left on the clock as the results of Australia taking the lead at 9-8. It was another nail biter moment for France to get the late draw and force it to penalty shootouts and the Sharks has won the ball and gives it to Goalie and threw it back to the Centre of the Pool as the clock struck to zero, The Aussie Sharks has won the match 9-8.

The Aussie Sharks has one of the best thriller moments in Men’s Water Polo History has they defeated the Host Nation France with an amazing win which it would’ve been a nail biter for the Aussie Sharks as they hold on the victory.
