
The Stingers has been going for a great run in Pool A with every match with a victory included the Longest Penalty Shootout in Women’s Water Polo History against The Netherlands. They will now face Hungary and hopefully get an undefeated record in the Pool A Division as they will go the Quarterfinals Playoffs while the Aussie Sharks took a victory over Hungary yesterday.

The Match Started when Australia teamed up with the passing and ended with shot on target which it was saved. Then Krisztina Garda of Hungary scored the goal as they lead 1-0. After that, Tilly Kearns of Australia almost scored the goal and it was rebounded. Meanwhile, Rebecca Parkes of Hungary was going to score but it was blocked by Gabriella Palm Australian Goalkeeper. Hungary was called for Exclusion as the referee reviewed the play and it was called foul. After Greta Kurucz-Gurisatti of Hungary took the action shot which it was saved. While Elle Armit passed it to Bronte Halligan of Australia it was blocked by Alda Magyari the Hungarian Goalkeeper. As they passed the ball for Australia but somehow lost the ball and Vanda Valyi of Hungary took the shot on Target but was saved by the Australian Goalkeeper. Danijela Jackovich passed the ball to Alice Williams, Bronte Halligan and Zoe Arancini scored the extra player shot at 1-1 and had a great sneaky way to pass it and scored the goal for Australia. Then Charlize Andrews was about to score the lead but it was missed. During the last moment, Hungary almost got the goal which it was hit by the post and Australia took the last throw before the buzzer went up.

During the 2nd Quarter, Australia has worked on passing the ball with Bronte Halligan then to Danijela Jackovich, which it was blocked from Hungary as Greta Kurucz-Gurisatti passed it to Krisztina Garda, then the Capitan Rita Keszthelyi, Vanda Valyi and Alda Magyari and it was saved by Australia. After that, Sienna Hearn passed the ball to Browne Halliagn, then Alice Williams and the Capitan Zoe Arancini and passed it back to each other as she throw it for a shot on Goal and it was saved by Hungary. Meanwhile, Keesja Gofers of Australia took an amazing shot as they lead 2-1. Australia was called for Foul and Vanda Valyi of Hungary took the Goal as they tied it at 2 apiece. After that, Keesja Gofers passed it to Charlize Andrews, and Sienna Hearn which they give the ball back to back and scored the goal for the Stingers as they lead 3-2. Subsequently, Rita Keszthelyi passed it to Krisztina Garda to rebound it to Brigitta Horvath of Hungary and it was saved by the Australia Goalkeeper. Then Sienna Green of Australia was caught for a penalty foul and give Hungary the Penalty Shootout as Rebecca Parkes took the Penalty Shot and scored the Goal as they leveled it at 3-3. Bronte Halligan passed it to Sienna Green, then Elle Armit and Zoe Arancini and it was rebounded it back Elle Armit, took the shot before clock was up for their 30 seconds. Hungary almost got the goal before Halftime but it was saved to end the first half of the match.


During the 3rd Quarter started with when Rebecca Parkes was called for Turnover Foul as Alice Williams was able to steal the ball for Australia. Then Australia had the ball and Abby Andrews scored the Action Goal while leading 4-3. Then Sienna Green of Australia was called for Centre forward position exclusion and got the red card as she was substituted out of the match.Not for long when Natasa Rybanska of Hungary scored the Extra Player Sho Goal as they tied at 4-4. Elle Armit of Australia took the Extra Player Shot Goal as the Stingers take the lead back at 5-4. Abby Andrews of Australia blocked Bronte Halligan by accident as she was going to get the shot on Target. After that, Zoe Arancini passed the ball to Bronte Halligan to Abby Andrew but it was however saved it and got it back to Tilly Kearns and Alice Williams scores the goal as they put themselves away leading 6-4. Then, Natasa Rybanska passed the ball to Krisztina Garda, then Rita Keszthelyi and Dorottya Szilagyi scored for the Hungary while the Hungarian Coach yelled at them to pass the ball and it did work while still down by one with 6-5. Keesja Gofers and Abby Andrew took the shot for Australia which it was saved by the Goalkeeper. Meanwhile, Abby Andrews passed it to Bronte Halligan, and Alice Williams of Australia which it was blocked. After that, Hungary swim all the way to the other side of the pool as Australia tried to defend the ball and Hungary couldn’t conclude the scoring opportunity as the clock ended the 3rd Quarter.







During the 4th Quarter, Natasa Ryvanska passed it to Rebecca Parkes did the back hand shot but it was missed for Hungary. Then, Rita Keszthelyi the Hungarian Captain as she took the long throw and tied the game 6 apiece. After that, Alice Williams passed the ball to Bronte Halligan, then pass it in the circle to Tilly Kearns and Alice Williams took the throw while she scored the magic touch as the Hungarian Goalkeeper missed it by the finger tips as they lead 7-6. The Stingers took the steal and started with Bronte Halligan then pass it to Abby Andrews, then her sister Charlize Andrews, then Sienna Hearns, Alice Williams and Tilly Kearns which she returns the ball to Alice Williams and got another goal for Australia 8-6. Then, Rita Keszthelyi passed it to Natasa Rybanska, then Vanda Valyi, Dorottya Szilagyi passes back to Rita Keszthelyi and Dorottya Szilagyi scores a beautiful goal 8-7. Then Natasa Rybanska, was caught for a Penalty Foul and she was given a red card as she was substituted out and Tilly Kearns of Australia took the Penalty Shot and scored the goal as they lead 9-7. Abby Andrews was about to score the goal for Australia and it was hit by the left post. After Rita Keszthelyi of Hungary was called for Turnover and Tilly Kearns of Australia was called for a Turnover Foul. Then Kessja Gofers was caught for a Penalty Foul and Rita Keszthelyi of Hungary got the penalty shot and scored the goal 9-8 which they had one more to tied it up to the Stingers. After that, Australia took the pass from Alice Willams passed the ball to Sienna Hearn to Danijela Jackovich while she struggled to get the ball with Krisztina Garda of Hungary but couldn’t hang on and blown the whistle for a Hungary Timeout. Meanwhile, Krisztina Garda passed it to Dorottya Szilagyi and was blocked up in the air while Gabriella Palm managed took the block for the great save. While Krisztina Garda passed it to Dora Leimeter and tied the game at 9-9 with 50 seconds left of the Match which Australia wants to call a timeout. When it was done, Australia did a lot of time passing the ball from Alice Williams, then Zoe Arancini, Bronte Halligan, Abby Andrews held the ball and gives it Tilly Kearns which Dora Leimeter was called for Centre forward position exclusion and got the Red Card. Then Tilly Kearns passed the ball to Abby Andrews, then Bronte Halligan, Abby Andrews, Alice Williams, Zoe Arancni then back to Abby Andrews, Alice Williams, Bronte Halligan, Alice Williams, Zoe Arancni and Bronte Halligan took the Extra Player Shot and hit the Post as it wrap up regulation time with 9-9.









When it was time for the Penalty Shootout as the winner gets 2 points instead of 3 and the team that loses the penalty shootout gets 1 point in the Pool standings. While both teams huddle of the coach while Coach Attila Mihok of Hungary asked their teammates to find a way to out beat Australia. While Bec Rippon the Head Coach of Australia asked her team to be patience and stay focus on the net to aim it with the ball. The Starting Goalkeepers would be Alda Magyari of Hungary and Gabriella Palm of Australia. The Penalty Shootout started with Zoe Arancini of Australia and got the Goal 1-0. Next Rita Keszthelyi of Hungary got the shot for the goal and it was good 1-1. Then Abby Andrews of Australia took the shot, bounced into the ball and the goal was good 2-1. Then, Genevieve Longman substituted the Goalkeeper as she wants to take over. Krisztina Garda of Hungary scored the Goal on the right-side of the net 2-2. Then, Tilly Kearns took the power shot and got the Goal 3-2. When Kamilla Farago of Hungary takes the shot and bounced in the pool but somehow hit the Post and the Stingers has kept their hopes alive. Then Alice Williams Shot was good as the Hungarian Goalkeeper was close with the fingertips 4-2. After that, Dorottya Szilagyi took the Shot and got the Goal 4-3. Lastly, Bronte Halligan of Australia took the Powerful Shot and got the Winning Goal 5-3 for the Stingers. The won the Match 14-12 (5-3) PSO.















They become the Undefeated Team of the Group A Division in the Women’s Water Polo as they will play against Greece in the Quarterfinals on Tuesday.
