The Florida Panthers began the moment when Aleksander Barkov skated with the Stanley Cup Trophy to put it on the table with the largest container stand as he placed it safely. It was a big sellout crowd at Amerant Bank Arena. The players than gathered up together to watch the Stanley Cup Championship Banner as it rises above to the roof of Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, Florida. Everyone who witnessed the moment has opened their eyes which it was like a new galaxy in the sky.
The Bella Denton a Dancer and Miami Dolphins Cheerleader sang the National Anthem before opening the match. Fans were stunned with her beautiful voice and standing up for her country. When it was done, the players started practice on ice before the referee released the puck into the 1st Period.
The match began in the 1st period with Anton Lundell with the face off win and gives it to Eetu Luostarinen but then it was hit by Max Jones. Then Matthew Tkachuk took the shot on Goal but it was a good save by Joonas Korpisalo the Boston Bruins Goalkeeper. Then Carter Verhaeghe took the snap shot to get the goal which it was saved by Boston. Meanwhile, A.J. Greer and Mark Kastelic got into a fight and stopped the game. Some of fans thought it would be a WWE moment and both referees were able to break them apart. After that, the Florida Panthers teamed up to pass the puck to each other, until Dmitry Kulikov was about to take the shot but missed the goal so Sam Bennett took the shot and gives it to Lundell as Evan Rodrigues took the shot but saved by the goalkeeper which Sam Bennett rebounded the puck and scored the opening lead at 13:33 left in the first period. It was also Sam Bennett’s first goal of the season. The Panthers were excited to see them get the opening goal first as they play Panthers Pulse after the roar of the goal. The Panthers then scored another goal over a minute when Sam Reinhardt took the shot as it was saved, then Eetu Luostarinen took the Goal as it was his first of the season. The fans went wild as they brought the excitement of joy. The Florida Panthers has took the lead 2-0 over the Boston Bruins which it was incredible to see the Panthers scored 2 goals in 1 minute. Anton Lundell passed the puck to Eetu Luostarinen as it was saved for shot on goal.
Then Carter Verhaeghe took the shot to get the 3rd goal which it somehow ended hitting the crossbar in mid air as the fans thought it was a possible goal depending on the angle where there stood at. It didn’t last when the Panthers had the Power Play and the Bruins stole their momentum which Pavel Zacha took the Goal for Boston as Elias Lindholm and Andrew Peeke each assisted the help of the Bruins as they opened the scoreboard while Panthers were leading 2-1. Then the Bruins all took aggressive steps to get the tying goal but Aleksander Barkov was able to save it from going in. The Bruins took control of the puck and Barkov the Panthers Goalie was able to save it from going in which the Panthers were able to defend the puck. Sam Reinhart took the puck and made a wonderful dive for the goal as the Panthers lead Boston 3-1. The crowd has got energized by the terrific performance from the Panthers with 1:26 left on the clock. One minute later, the Panthers scored again with 25 seconds left in the 1st Period and it was Sam Bennett as A.J Greer was able to assist the Panthers when he tried to get the goal in the effort of teamwork. The Florida Panthers as been epic for their opponents in the home opener match to begin the 24/25 Season as they lead Boston 4-1. It felt like a great early start to begin the match as the fans raised their voices and made their way of the thrilling moments in South Florida.
When the 2nd Period began, with the Boston Bruins took advantage of the puck which did had some opportunities to score which Barkov was able to successfully saved it from going in the net. Somehow during the moment, the goalie net broke apart. Another terrific moment was when Justin Brazeau of the Bruins was about to get the goal, Aleksander Barkov made a mistake for not getting back to his goalie position which luckily Evan Rodrigues was able use his stick to block the puck from going in the net. Then Uvis Ballinskis was able to defend the puck and gives it to Jesper Boqvist and Jonah Gadjovich took the puck and scored the goal for the Florida Panthers as they lead the Boston Bruins 5-1. The celebration didn’t last when Charlie McAvoy of the Bruins took the Goal as John Beecher and Hampus Lindholm took the assist as the Panthers took the lead 5-2. The Florida Panthers took every opportunity to get the goal which some of the shots were blocked and A.J Greer took the Shot on Goal which Joonas Korpisalo of the Bruins had been staying firm in the last 10 minutes of the second period. When it ended, some fans left the game because of Hurricane Milton that would hit Florida in less than 24 hours and others only wanted to see the Panthers Banner Rise to the roof even the high scoring lead in the first period.
When the 3rd Period began, it started with Eetu Luostarinen of the Panthers who took the snap shot on goal which Korpisalo was able to save it before it went in. Eetu Luostarinen was about to raise his stick for the celebration which he didn’t even realize that the goalie was able to stop it from going in the net. Matthew Tkachuk passed the puck to Evan Rodrigues which he was about to a backhand shot on goal which the Bruins Goalkeeper was able to block off the puck from going in the net which that would’ve been a moment for the Panthers. Aaron Ekblad passed the puck to Matthew Tkachuk and gives it to Evan Rodrigues as he scored the goal with an epic turn which Sam Bennett ended up crashing into the goalkeeper and both teams got heated up with exchange of words for fights. After that, the goal was able to stand as Sam Bennett crashed into Jonnas Korpisalo after the puck went into the net. Then Both Bruins and Panthers went back to back with the plays on target. After that, Morgan Geekie of the Bruins took the slap shot and hit the crossbar as they’re determined to get closer to the Panthers. As fans began to leave to avoid the traffic and the storm, the Panthers had many chances to get in the net with multiple shots on target and shots blocked. Trent Frederic of the Bruins scored the goal with 3:09 left on the clock which there was little time to get close to the Panthers which would possibly tied the game if the Panthers scored from the empty net. Then the team played by Animals by Martin Garrix to call a wake up alert for the Panthers. Both teams were tirelessly running through the game but the Panthers we’re running out of energy with the defense. The Bruins scored again with 1:45 left and David Pastrnak give Boston a boost up to the game with the Panthers leading 6-4. The Bruins did everything they could but it was too late to get the tying chance to overtime which the Panthers didn’t get a chance to find the empty netter. A.J. Greer was hoping to score the 7th Goal for the Panthers to get the buzzer beater moment but he swings it just short on the right side of the net with the great defensive play from Boston but it wasn’t enough to end the game. The Florida Panthers had won the game 6-4 which they had a terrific first period but did play casual Hockey into the very end.
It was a very memorable experience to see the Panthers rise the Banner to their home ground and played some exciting hockey in the first period. The Florida Panthers are looking forward to began the 2024/2025 Season with a terrific start, maybe they could make it to the playoffs or possibly win 2 Straight years of winning the Stanley Cup which that could be an incredible accomplishment.
