Day 3 on Easter Saturday

Surfers queued up for the men’s and women’s round of 32 on a beautiful Easter Saturday with lots of sunshine. partly cloudy and breezy in the morning but changed to abominable sunshine with 82 degrees Fahrenheit 27 Celsius. The surfers got lined up to get ready for the surfing tournament while getting the early morning sun.

The Tournament of Day 3 started off with Heat 6 of the Round of 32 in the Men’s Division while waves are 1 to 4 feet in the surf forecast. In the round of Heat 6 we got Ramzi Boukhiam of Morocco vs Liam O’Brien of Australia. While Liam O’Brien started off with 5 turns but made a wow turn at his 3rd maneuvered turn and took a clean turn to wrapped up his best performance with a result score of 7.00. While Ramzi Boukhiam took his performance he got 3 turns which it was a nice vertical turn, smooth and powerful controlled surfing with a score of 5.50. When Luke got his next best performance, he got 3 turns which he got a nice string carve which then down the line and leans into the finish while getting a result off 6.00. When Ramzi got his next best performance, he had 6 turns to maneuvered his surfboard while his score was 6.80. The winner of Heat 6 was Liam O’Brien of Australia with 13.00 points while Ramzi Boukhiam of Morocco got 12.30. In the round of Heat 7 we got Gabriel Medina of Brazil vs Cole Houshmand of the United States. Gabriel Medina’s best Performance was when he got 5 turns and rode on top of the waves to start off with a score of 6.70. Then he did another 5 turns to maneuvered his surfboard with the judges giving him a score of 7.10. While Cole Houshmand’s performance surfboard like 7 turns which his first 5 was on board but the waves died down a little which he hoped to catch his 6th turn but continued to hoped the waves to get his 7th and last wrapped it up with a finger click with a score of 6.80. His overall best performance was when he got 5 turns has his best performance was that he maneuvered his while he had a score of 7.47. The winner of Heat 7 was Cole Houshmand of the USA with 14.27 while Gabriel Medina of Brazil got 13.77.

In the round of Heat 8 we got Kanoa Igarashi of Japan vs Jacob Willcox of Australia. So Jacob Wilcox had a great start for his best performance with a score of 7.33 because he had 6 turns while catching the waves which after his 2nd turn, he had a full second of riding straight before his 3rd turn. After that, Kanoa Igarashi immediately had his turn to get the best performance with a score of 7.17, he had 4 turns while other waves on the outside but managed to get a clean slate which the waves weren’t great. Jacob Wilcox had a giant wave and got 4 turns which he had a great exchange of big hits from some of the turns whack the tail up and over back with the amazing turns but wanted to fall off after the waves dies down because he didn’t wanna make a mistake like his last turn. He had his 2nd best score of this round with the result of 6.57. By the time Kanoa Igarashi had his best record of this round, he got 5 turns with amazing stunts with the speed and power which he started off with a lot of speed and did a double curve with the tidy work in the pocket and has hammered down the jet speed and ended with a swing reverse and riders on like a jet skier. The winner of Heat 8 was Kanoa Igarashi of Japan with 14.64 while Jacob Wilcox of Australia got 13.90.

In the round of Heat 9 Griffin Colapinto of the United States vs Tully Wylie of Australia. Both teammates started off racing to the paddle battle which to get the inside point in the opening stages but Tully Wylie got the first wave but only slowed down to take a dive off his surfboard. While both had not great waves until Griffin got his best performance in his 5th try to catch the waves with the score of 8.17. He started off with the outside and put so much speed and finish it with an F1 into a big front side curve and ended up with a wave off by getting 3 turns shifting his surfboard. While the ocean was crystal blue, Griffin then got another best performance with a score of 7.40 because he did 5 turns which he started off with a spin around the waves like a jet skier and swings it in reverse then whipping the tail with a smaller wave which then wrapped it up with a spin and turned his surfboard around including himself which it was an incredible performance. Then Tully got 2 late best performances of his turn before the buzzer end the 9th round of Heat. Tully Wylie got 4 turns with a score of 6.30 by starting off with a big curved and then caught up with the waves but managed to get his 2nd turn back in front which the waves were just a good one to catch. His last wave was a score of 5.43 which he did his best with 3 turns which started off with a slide and stayed up front the fight against the waves to keep his momentum going. The winner of Heat 9 was Griffin Colapinto of the United States with 15.57, while Tully Wylie of Australia got 11.73.

In the round of Heat 10 Miguel Pupo of Brazil vs Crosby Colapinto of the United States. Both started off with strong performance and got the best results of this Heat. Miguel Pupo started off with a nice snap through the 1st section and then made 4 great vertical transitions withe that curve through the tail of the surfboard which he wrapped it off with a nice tag. He then made a thriller backside snap to hit the whitewaters and then made great arcing curves and wrapped it up with some speed to get the last vertical curve which he got a score of 6.83. When he made another great performance, he started off with a great balance with first 2 waves with a nice curve into the whitewaters, he made a lot of interesting curves which he maneuvered the board until the end with a score of 6.70. When Crosby Colapinto got his first 2 best performance of the best results, he started of with a nice curve and did a nice open face hook through the fins and controlled the surfboard by attacking vertical shift with a score of 7.50. On his 2nd best performance, he started off with a ride to the top of the white waters and shifted down to keep the board balance and contained to ride up and find the the attacking position of the white waters with a nice flow and finishes with the right rhythm through the tail and got a result of 6.97. The winner of Heat 10 is Crosby Colapinto of the United States with 14.47 while Miguel Pupo of Brazil got 13.53.

In the round of Heat 11 we got Barron Mamiya of Hawaii vs Kelly Slater of the United States. While both had some hip-cups on the first couple of waves but managed to get some clean slate. When Kelly Slater got his best performance with a score of 4.90, he got the first wave with the torch type moment and got some great spins into the white waters so he finished up with a transition punt into reverse to turn the surfboard around with a cool flip. Then Barron Mamiya got his best performance with a score of 4.90, by using his first turn into a shift for a fin ditch. He had a nice turn for a double arc turn through the white waters.He wraps up his performance with the extra spins to let to wind get to his way streaks down the line here and got the tail slide to finish it of a good performance without a wipeout. Afterwards, Kelly Slater had got another best record with a score of 5.20 which he started off gliding the whitewaters, snapped the turns with some nice curves and got some nice punches through the section of the waves and wrapped it up with incurable power hook with a clean one by not laying back for extreme as the his previous wave catch. Lastly, Barron Mamiya got a incredible performance with a score of 6.50, because he started off with a big curve of the giant wave and then carves the pocket on his 2nd turn and did the last couple of turns from shift back and fourth with the rhythm in the pocket to go inside the wave and makes it in. The winner of Heat 11 is Barron Mamiya of Hawiaii with 11.37, while Kelly Slater of the USA got 10.10.

In the round of Heat 12 Jake Marshall of the United States vs Frederico Morais of Portugal, it started off with Frederico Morais by getting 4 turns of his surfboard shifting the waves with a score of 4.50. Then Jake Marshall got his best performance with a score of 6.33, by starting off with a great shift turn from his surfboard, then he did a g beat job with the line curving turns release the fins and the control of speed until the very end with a wipeout. Then Jake Marshall got his other best performance with a score of 6.40, while starting off with riding the waves to the top of the waters to make a great turn and finish it with a great line through the waves with a big turn. Finally, Frederico Morais got his best performance starting off with expectations of great turns through the whitewaters into the pocket again with a good size wall to protect himself and his surfboard with a score of 6.67. The Winner of Heat 12 is Jake Marshall of the United States with 12.73, while Frederico Morais of Portugal got 11.17.

In the round of Heat 13, we got John John Florence of Hawaii vs Kade Matson of the United States. It started off with Kade Matson by getting a strong start by getting a nice variety of waves with the flow of power. While he was getting his spark with 5 turns to maintain the surfboard and got a score of 6.83. While John John Florence wanted to make up his surfing performance while he struggled his first wave, he started off with a beautiful curves through the white waters and did it in 4 sections and wrapped it up with a major turn with the end of the wave by getting a score of 7.67. While Kade Matson got his next best performance, he started off with a digger curve on the open turns which he wasn’t able to get the best of him because the waves died down too soon while trying to get a speed curve, but managed to get a score of 5.17. Lastly John John Florence started off with a paddle through the ocean waves but got the loads of jumping curves until he got the wipeout because he pushes inside and couldn’t finish it up. It was unfortunate with the bad luck of getting the best waves so his 2nd best was actually a score of 2.43 The winner of Heat 13 is Kade Matson of the USA with 12.00, while John John Florence got 10.10.

In the round of Heat 14, we got Yago Dora of Brazil vs Ian Gentil of Hawaii. On a beautiful Sunny afternoon, Ian Gentil started off with a great turn with the flow, he got the climbing type maneuvered on the 2nd section and did some sideways until the big carve down the line to keep the flow going and got a good wave to wrapped it up with a score of 6.00. When Yago Dora got his turn, he started off with a back hand float holding the bottom turn, with a nice rapid cut and did a nice turn to wrap it up with a score of 6.40. When both surfers got their next top best score it starts with Ian Gentil by getting the great turns of the mayhem clean sweep. He made a turn into the chunky waves but made drifts in some sections and wrapped it up with the punches into the layback sliding through the waves to get the silky hook with a score of 7.50. He had a great performance with a great turns through the waves while maintaining his upright stance fairly narrow stance which he compared his other waves down the line. When Yago Dora had his turn, he started off with great turns and tags into the whitewaters, he then throws the tail high with wow performance didnt reserve the board and took a firm control into the whitewaters which he was celebrating for joy. His incredible performance was about the back hand maintained the board while precise his actions inverted the back fin close to his face but focused on an outstanding job with the full control and wrote prone instead of the full rotation which he gets a score of 7.63. The two friends had battle with the best performance which it could the highlight of the tournament and caught a lot of waves while becoming a competitive battle by getting the best in them. It was great run but the winner of Heat 14 is Yago Dora of Brazil with 14.03, while Ian Gentil of Hawaii got 13.50.

In the round of Heat 15, we got Italo Ferreira of Brazil vs Rio Waida of Indonesia. Two the fastest surfers are competing for the win so they can go to the round of 16. It started with Rio Waida by riding the grip and catch the waves until he jumped out because Italo Ferreira’s moment to ride the waves and started off with a speed jam float while creating a backside turn and wrapped it up with a score of 5.40. When Rio Waida had his turn again, he tried again and started off with driving his surfboard in the bottom and kept his projection turn down the line and digs his tail drifting smoothing wide up the big blast curve with a score of 7.50. When Italo Ferreira got his next turn, he started off with speed drifting the board while giving the momentum of carving the turns drilling of the lift with a score of 6.03. When Rio Waida got his final shot before the clock ended, he started off with great speed, he made some great curves with a snap to slide to get a fin throw to wrapped up this heat stage under pressure with a score of 6.57. The winner of Heat 15 is Rio Waida of Indonesia with 13.67, while Italo Ferreira of Brazil got 11.43.

In the last round of 32 in Heat 16, we got Jordy Smith of South Africa vs Caio Ibelli of Brazil. It started off with Jordy Smith when he got some curves that gives the priority to whip that tail to pass through the whitewaters with a score of 4.83. When Ciao Ibelli got his monument, he started off with 6 big turns with the shifted curves and maneuvered the board until the very end with a score of 6.17. When both surfers got his best performance, Ciao Ibell started off with riding the waves and got 2 turns but shift his surfboard back to the ocean because the waves died down, but he did got a score of 6.60. Right after his turn, when Jordy Smith got his chance to ride the waves, he started off with his hands back to the bottom and made 5 sharp curves with a score of 6.90. The winner of Heat 16 is Ciao Ibell of Brazil with 12.77, while Jordy Smith of South Africa got 11.73.

During the Round of 16 Tournament, all of the winners who competed in the Round of 32 have to compete against each other in order to qualify for the Quarterfinals.

In the opening Round of 16, we had the participants of Heat 1 from Morgan Cibilic of Australia against Ryan Callinan of Australia. It started off with Morgan Cibilic with a ride inside position to throw the fins for the first section and took a massive release in the 2nd turn and got a best score of 6.67. Then Ryan Callinan got 4 turns to started off with a powerful shift with his surfboard and took a dangerous backhand shift which made a great vertical line to get a score of 7.10. Then Ryan went to get his other best performance and it started off with shift on the outside and made some nice curves to keep the board balanced which finished with a nice vertical slide and got a score of 5.17. When Morgan Cibilic got his fantastic performance, he started off with riding through the waves to get the vertical spin and took a nice sharp speed which took a nice big carve with a best score of 6.83. The winner of Heat 1 is Morgan Cibilic of Australia with 13.50, while Ryan Callinan of Australia got 12.27.

During the round of Heat 2, we got Samuel Pupo of Brazil vs Matthew McGillivrary of South Africa. It started off with Samuel Pupo as he rolled it with the waves and took the sharp carve by taking the maneuvered shift through the waves with a nice fin in the top of the whitewaters and took a nice dive after the last turn of the waves with a score of 6.67. Next we got Matthew McGillivrary who took a nice turn with the hack spin and drives through the whitewaters which he control the tail and drove the bottom board with a terrific performance with a score of 5.73. Afterwards, Samuel Pupo took his surfboard and started off with jumping through the waves. He eventually took the ground curves which tapped the waves, and made an arc cutback to wrapped it up with a tail jump towards the beach with a stunning performance by a score of 5.77. Lastly, Matthew McGillivrary took the big one by making excellent carves towards the beach and took 2 massive maneuver turns which he threw another hammer throws the tail in transition for reserve. He did a massive performance with a score of 7.77, which he was pleased about the ending turn of the surfboard which he balances it at the right moment. The winner of Heat 2 is Matthew McGillivray of South Africa with 13.50 while Samuel Pupo of Brazil got 12.44 it up with a a great performance by 2 players that did their best.

During the round of Heat 3, we got two Aussie Surfers for this round and it’s Ethan Ewing of Australia vs Liam O’ Brien of Australia. It started off with Ethan Ewing by streaking through the lines of the waves while jamming the the first turn and made power speed on the 2nd section which got the momentum down the line with a big layback hammer for an outstanding performance to get the score of 8.50. Then Liam O’ Brien gets to start off with a layback slide off the lip which it was incredible. He then made a big curve to the back and slams it to another tail throw with a score off 7.33. Then Ethan Ewing woke up from laying on the surfboard and decided to take the action by getting a huge vertical turn and took a ditch out in for the carved a tail release by whipping it off the lip again by taking control into a massive wave with a score of 7.27. Lastly, Liam O’ Brien took the wavy curve to start his first turn, which he took a meat hook to the carve and lay the bottom board through the whitewaters to step up the gears with a score of 7.00. The winner of Heat 3 in the round of Aussie’s is Ethan Ewing of Australia got 15.77, while Liam O’Brien of Australia got 14.33.

During the round of Heat 4, we got Cole Houshmand of the USA vs Kanoa Igarashi of Japan. When Cole Houshmand got his top performance, he started off with riding the blue waters and took 3 vertical turns to get a score of 5.70. While Kanoa Igarashi gets his top performance, he started off with a nice shift of speed through the waves, took a nice vertical carve while the turn of the board give a nice pace and swings the tail free glides with the waves by getting a score of 6.40. When Cole Houshmand got his best performance, he started off with a vertical curve through the whitewaters, while hoped through the waves to tweak the tail to add extra speed and made it power vert to make it a nice round with a score of 8.67. Lastly, Kanoa Igarashi started off at the outside to get through the waves, which he hoped the board to add the speed and made a nice curves. He was able to wrap it up with a nice lip into the air and swing the board in reverse with a score of 7.33. The winner of Heat 4 is Cole Houshmand of the USA with 14.37, while Kanoa Igarashi of Japan got 13.73.

During the round of Heat 5, we got 2 Americans and it was surprisingly nice to see the Colapinto Brothers compete against each other which we have Griffin Colapinto of the USA vs Crosby Colapinto of the USA. It started when both brothers wanted to catch the waves but one was able to get one and goes to Griffin Colapinto which the waves weren’t strong to get a start. Then off to the top 2 scores of the highlights and started off with Griffin Colapinto but have to surrender to let Crosby Colapinto get the starter by the nice shifts with the waves and did a reverse spin on his board but didn’t hold back on it and got a score of 2.67. While Crosby attempts it again, he starts with a nice shift through the waves in addition leaps to earn a nice hop, but he wipes out while attempting a reverse spin, resulting in a score of 2.00. When Griffin got his performance, he started off with a nice shift to the waves and got some speed to get the momentum. While he got the last turn, he almost got wipeout but managed to stay on his surfboard and hammers it for a high impact with a fault disconnect with the back foot something different which the judges will give him a score of 7.17. When Griffin does it again, he started off with some curves jumping through the waves, he took a nice vertical carve while the waves fades into the lower sea levels which he finish with a spin in reverse but not the greatest way to end, he will get a score of 4.50.The winner of Heat 5, is one the Americans who compete his brother and it goes to while it was nice to see both of them play in the round of 16 but it could only be one winner and the other one will support his brother to play in the Quarterfinals. Has the results stands it goes to Grffin Colapinto of the United States who got 11.67, while Griffin Colapinto of the United States got 4.67.

During the round of Heat 6, we got Barron Mamiya of Hawaii vs Jake Marshall of the USA. It started off with Jake Marshall by getting the vertical shift to the board and then did a nice hack to the board while he did a nice bottom fin throw to do the back in reverse spin lay low with a unique shot by a score of 6.50. While Jake Marshall got his best performance, he started off with the underhand and took a nice lip for the vertical curve which he did a sideway gliding the board. He whips it to the pocket riding another clean forehand hook jammed the slide which he floated the board with a score 7.67. When it was time for Barron Mamiya to get his actions, he started off with hopping the waves to find his first turn but use a vertical curve but it with a score of 3.57. Lastly, he got a vertical curve and did a throw tail reverse which it was the most electric dynamic by getting the score 5.17. The winner of Heat 6 is Jake Marshall of the United States with the score of 14.17, while Barron Mamiya of Hawaii got 8.74.

In the round of Heat 7 Kade Matson of the USA vs Yago Dora of Brazil. It started off with Kade Matson who took the vertical curve and then took 2 beautiful snaps but the 3rd turn was very expressive with his hands while positioning really tight radius pivoting while turned off the lip with the powerful wave by getting a score of 7.67. While Yoga Dora got his best performance with a score of 6.67, he got 8 turns by starting off with the backhand through the waves, he also got the spins thrown the quick snap whip while attacking the pocket again after another wave by throwing the lip. He was hammering the board while hugging the pocket real close to whitewaters and wrapped it up with a nice spin while he hammers it. Then Kade Matson did another great performance and got a score of 6.33, so he started off with a nice carve through the waves while he use the water off the tail into a clean ride and took interesting curves by the ocean while he finishes the path with a nice jams it to the longest ride to the ocean. He did a great job accelerated from the bottom turn again and again with the foam part if the surfboard. Lastly,

While the sun began to set, it was the final round of the day’s action that would set up the Round of 16. The players on the Round of Heat 8 are Rio Waida of Indonesia vs Caio Ibelli of Brazil. During the Final Round of Heat 8. It started off with Caio Ibelli with a nice ride through the waves and got his first shift which he tried to add some speed on his board while he got a monster finish down the line. He also did a nice beautiful carve on his surfboard but forced the reverse on the end section of the waves, but made a wipeout to get the score of 3.80. Then it was Rio Waida had took the challenge with the top of the waves and started off with shifting the board to the waves by getting a nice section and finished off with a fly in reserve with a score of 5.93.


Day 4 Quarterfinals on Easter Sunday

During the beginning of this tournament on the Morning of Easter Day and it started off with the Round of Heat 1 in the Women’s Quarterfinals, which we got Johanne Defay of France vs Ellie Harrison of Australia. It started off with Ellie Harrison by getting a priority of whitewaters to roll her with a ton of speed down the line to stay by the whitewaters which she made a nice curve to gain power on the surfboard.

While Ellie Harrison bashed the waves to hit it back into the lips and use the fins to make a nice curve. She made a next turn for the fading cut back as she attacks a nice landing with a score of 6.93. Then Johanne Defay did a nice vertical curve which she a 2nd hook on the open face to make a do a curve to get an easy flow connecting the inside section driving off the bottom and hitting the whitewater off the top showing her precision with a score of 6.50. While Johanne Defay does it again, she started off rolling in the white waters, while riding through the lines curved the board to make a forehand hook fading on the sharp eye to make a nice ride through the waves and finished off with gliding the waves but couldn’t get a major hook, however she will get a score of 5.63. When Ellie Harrison took her last wave to redeem herself, she started off with a hit on top of the white waters while she lays down the rail when the waves faded as she tried to hop that board the move faster but unfortunately the waves faded before her last attempt which she gets a score of 3.93. The winner of Heat 1 is Johanne Defay of France with 12.13, while Ellie Harrison of Australia got 10.86.

During the round of Heat 2, we got Sawyer Lindblad of the United States vs Brisa Hennessy of Costa Rica. It started off Sawyer Lindblad who made 2 turns on the backhand with the smooth waves while she hoped the board to gain speed and took a nice vertical turn with a score of 5.67. When Brisa Hennessy got her best performance, she got a score of 8.50 while taken the nice carve to draw the S symbol on the board while riding the waves hooking the first section up into the lip and use the forehand to tap the water to get a nice opening carve. She laid her right hand to the bowly waves which she was able to get a perfect shot on an incredible note. While Brisa Hennessy does it again to ger her next best wave, she started off with a nice speed to get the carve, flown over the white water, while she taps the oncoming section to keep the energy with the pocket to keep stalling the tail with a great turn through 5 sections through the turbulence and she rides away with a score of 7.33. It was also the cleanest waves which Brisa was pleased which she made the most of it. As Sawyer Lindblad wrapped up this round, she was able to get the first 3 turns and did a nice job using the board for a carve maneuvered which the waves slowed down on the inside which she wrapped up the tournament with 2 curves but the waves faded away which it wasn’t ideal but she will get a score of 6.07. The winner of Heat 2 is Brisa Hennessy of Costa Rica with 15.83, while Sawyer Lindblad of the United States got 11.74.

During the round of Heat 3 we got Caroline Marks of the United States vs Tatiana Weston-Webb of Brazil. It started off with Caroline Marks who was the 2023 Bells Beach Champion as she took the hustle on the outside as she marks the 1st section with a nice curve, while she made 3 more curve maneuvers when the waves faded out streaking down the line. She was able to change the transition of the flow of the waves which it helped maintain the construct with a smooth ride to a nice steep of sections on the inside and gets a terrific start which she extends the lower half of the body and then does it with her arms and legs to maintain the board with a score of 7.17. While Tatiana Weston-Webb gets her performance, she started off with a nice curve which the waves were bigger than Caroline’s first one and then Tatiana made the similar zone as the foam on the face with the opening turns but wasn’t able to hold on the board right after the last turn of the waves which she would get a score of 4.83. When Tatiana got her best surf performance, she started off with a great section on the outside and hammers it to pull her surfboard through the choppy waves riding out the move and it was the most aggressive turn and wraps it up with a hop of speed to the very last turn with a nice vertical turn with a score of 6.93. Lastly, Caroline Marks did a powerful performance for standing up through the choppy waves for the longest ride until the very end with 8 turns and managed to survived the long ride back to the ocean. She started off with a nice curve with the giant waves until the she trailed the white waters to the outside and stayed patience to find the curve to gain the speed on her board. By the time when the waves faded out, she rode on the inside and kept going with the smaller curves, which she was able to slow down the board after the dead-end section of the waves with a score of 4.77. The winner of Heat 3 is Caroline Marks of the United States with 11.94, while Tatiana Weston-Webb of Brazil got 11.76. It was a close way to finish the top 2 best score of the best performance but it was quite the ride through the choppy waves.

During the last round of the Women’s Quarterfinals in the round of Heat 4 we got Caitlin Simmers of the United States vs Gabriela Bryan of Hawaii. It started off with Gabriela Bryan who was streaking down the line jams it and got plenty of power after the first turn. She made a giant carve and hit drives around with a strong finish with a score of 7.50. When Caitlin Simmers took her best performance, the youngest woman at 18 years of age to make it this far and took a drifting speed for the first up into the tops waves and made a slick curve which she does it again to the rail. She made some similar turns and lastly finds away to get on the inside while she made a great response. Caitlin was able to show restraint on the waves which she managed to get a closeout section and didn’t push it too hard with the waves while she made a lot of terrific turns by an excellent score of 8.50. Both surfers had an outstanding start to end the Women’s Quarterfinals but it could only be one winner. When Caitlin Simmers took another great ride, she started off with a wall stretching out and climbs up into the section on top of the waves but kept her speed up to follow the trail of the white waters to time it perfectly. She managed to release onto the open face piecing it to get the last 3 turns with a nice vertical curve with a little kick to the fins and gets a score of 7.00. Lastly, Gabriela Bryan took the steeper part of the waves and took an excellent start with vertical carve through the waves. Even if the wave wasn’t big enough, she wanted to put all of her effort to get the job done by making the curves flexing on the tail at transition of the board. When Gabriela made one last turn, it rolls through and smashes it on the inside with a nice bang and rode the extra wave until the waves fade it for a wipeout with a score of 6.57. The winners of Heat 4 is Caitlin Simmers of the United States with 15.50 by getting an excellent achievement for the 18 year old, On the other hand, Gabriela Bryan of Hawaii got 14.07 which it was still a great performance. It was also the top highlights of the Women’s Tournament as the winners move on to the Semifinals to compete for the Rip Curls Pro Bells Beach Tournament of 2024.

Here’s our Interesting Highlights of Day 4 at Bells Beach, Victoria, Australia

During the Quarterfinals of the Men’s Bracket theres Matthew McGillivray of South Africa vs Morgan Cibilic of Australia for Heat 1. It started off with Morgan Ciblic of Newcastle who got a nice turn on the first section riding fast through the inside, while he got his signature fin throw off the top speed float to gain the drift by getting a vertical spin by giddy upping the section of the waves. As the currents slowed down by getting a nice curve, he made a couple of hops around the waves and did 2 more curves to get the taps to wrapped up his best performance with a score of 6.33. He was able to go up into the lip and had the release of the board to get on his tail to find the waves to get maneuvered the board and took nice control. When it was Matthew McGillivray’s turn, he started off with a float down on top of the whitewater’s with a nice line layback hack and made a great turn to maneuvered a sharp turn but couldn’t hold on to stay and slip off the board with a great start with a score of 7.00. When Matthew McGillivray took his next best performance, he started off with a nice carve of the first section and gets a nice wrap of shifting the board to maneuvered into a s symbol while riding the waves and finished it with a nice section with a score 5.17. Lastly, when Morgan Cibilic took his 2nd best performance, he started off with by pushing the bottom board to get a quick sweep by the white waters and shifting his board into the open face. When he gets to his last wave, he made a snap climb on the white waters as he hopped the board to gain speed while it jams it to the inside wall and got more room to get the top with a score of 5.83. It was a very close Heat as the person who won the Quarterfinals by .01 which the winner of Heat 1 in the Men’s Quarterfinals is Matthew McGillivray of South Africa with 12.17, while Morgan Cibilic of Australia got 12.16.

Next we got Ethan Ewing of Australia vs Cole Houshmand of the USA in Heat 2. During the round of Heat 2 we got Ethan Ewing of Australia vs Cole Houshmand of the United States. It started off with when both teammates swam towards sea to find a giant wave and it was Cole Houshmand who started while Ethan Ewing got washed away by the currents. Houshmand started off with a huge vertical carve and then made 3 more perfect carves into the currents while riding through the underhand, he made an unbelievable open face while getting the rhythm of the currents. He also made a nice S symbol while made a huge maneuvered turn on his board and lastly continued to attack the lip grinding on his backhand but couldn’t hold on which he would get an outstanding performance to firmly stay on the lip line with a score of 9.07. He was able to get many backside hacks on the vertical turns which the judges were wowed up with the amazing performance. When it was Ethan Ewing’s turn, he started with an amazing turn on the first 2 sections while he almost lost balance in his back but managed to hold on. Has the waves faded down, he was able to make a beautiful flow and turned a vertical snap into a wrapping cutback by the flow which he made extra curves to get a cool tempo with a wonderful rhythm with a score of 6.00. He did a nice job with a thin throw tail slide as he made some incredible shifts on his surfboard when he gained speed through the waves. When it was Cole Houshmand’s turn, he an incredible start with an underhand swing and shifted throw the section, as he made a redirect turn into the white waters as he did a backhand wrap out front the carve. When the waves faster and the currents faded down, he tried to hop the board to gain speed and finishes it with a clean turn and gets a score of 4.77. Unfortunately, those two surfers didn’t make anymore waves to catch as the swells became more frisky to continued riding the waves and it was started to become more like 4 to 8 feet of waves with dangerous rip currents. The winners of Heat 2 are Cole Houshmand of the United States with 13.84, while Ethan Ewing of Australia got 6.00 just because he only got 1 luck of getting the perfect wave, as Cole Houshmand only got 2 perfect waves in the session of 35 minutes.

Then we got Griffin Colapinto vs Jake Marshall both of them from the USA in Heat 3. It started off with Griffin Colapinto by getting an amazing jump onto air after with a nice speed through the waves down the line to the section. He went down the line to the whitewaters and then makes an open face up onto the pocket as he waved the tail by making 2 curves on the board. He lastly, rolls on the inside to get the last wave and speed up the board for an amazing position with a score of 8.50. Then Jake Marshall started off with 2 amazing stunts while maneuvered the board as the waves went to the whitewaters which it did slowed down his board which he refused to give up. So he kept going with a got the nose peck reserves while getting the fins openly and wraps it up with a nice hit on the inside with a score of 7.00. Then Jake Marshall opened up with a terrific curve on the inside, he even did it again on the whitewaters, as he goes down the line, he made a great touch on the lip line as he carried so much speed but made a wipeout when he was going to do another stunt. He was able to pull it off with the waves but carried a little too much speed which he will get a score of 4.83. When Griffin Colapinto got his next best performance, he started off with a terffic whipping carve out to the top of the huge waves with a beautiful slice, while he was hits the accelerator to rail the board and made some cool curves. He also did a fantastic fin release which he held on the board with a click maneuvered with a score of 8.40. The winners of Heat 2 is Griffin Colapinto of the United States with 16.90, while Jake Marshall of the United States got 11.83.

Lastly we got Kade Matson of the USA vs Rio Waida of Indonesia in Heat 4. It started off with Rio Waida when took a lighting jump from his surfboard with a great launch pad and gets the rotation as he rode on the inside to shift his surfboard with a nice carve with a fast high risks maneuvers. He also did a nice hop to gain speed to gain momentum like a kangaroo which he finishes with a nice spin by getting a score of 5.67. When it was Kade Matson’s turn, he started off with a nice curve which he made a nice surfboard maneuver which he was bout to get a jump on his surfboard, but unfortunately took a wipeout with a score of 1.97. Afterwards, Rio Wiada caught the next best wave and started off with a speed on the inside streaking down the line and made a nice on the face surf while stayed in the insdie. Rio Wiada then did a transition move and caught a huge wave with a nice section by the intense closeout maneuvered, while he continued to ride through the white waters as he rolls the board on the inside and finishes with a nice turn by getting a best Performance. He was able to get a score of 6.50. Lastly, Kade Matson had one more chance to get a good wave which he started off with a comeback wave, as he skied his surfboard up into the air and then made a great turn by the section. His board was splashed by the tail as the whitewaters slowed down the board but was able to finish it with a good shift of the waves by a score of 4.67. The winners of the last round of the Men’s Quarterfinals of Heat 4 is Rio Waida of Indonesia with 12.17, Kade Matson of the USA got 6.64.

The tournament was supposed to get to the finals but ended early because the winds were getting too rough and the waves were too low for the pro surfers to get the perfect waves.
