The Netherlands had played against Hungary in the Women’s Water Polo Tournament. This could be an interesting match between the 2 European teams.
When the 1st Quarter started, The Netherlands had won possession for Sprint Winner and both teams took charge until Rebecca Parkes the Hungarian player was caught for a foul in the penalty spot. Then Simone van de Kraats of the Netherlands scored the penalty goal and the Dutch lead 1-0. The two teams resumed taking the ball and had some mischief fouls until Sabrina van der Sloot scored a goal at the centre shot for the Netherlands to lead 2-0. Then Bente Rogge scored the extra player shot from the power play goal to gain the lead 3-0. The Hungarian team was starting to fall short until Dóra Leimeter scored the Extra Player Shot from the power play goal for Hungary to catch up while still down 3-1. Then Kitty Lynn Joustra scored the extra player shot to resume the lead 4-1 for the Dutch team. Afterwards, Dorottya Szilágyi of Hungary scored the extra player goal and catch the Netherlands while still down 4-2. That wraps up the 1st Quarter which gives both teams a quick rest.











When the 2nd Quarter started with both teams played their toughest performances and had some close moments while it hit the posts and shoot it far out. The results was the same until Kamilla Farago of Hungary got the opening Extra Player Shot opportunity to help the Hungarian team get closer to the Dutch team 4-3. The results finished with the Netherlands leading 4-3 up to halftime.

When the 3rd Quarter started, both Netherlands and Hungary both played their respective performances until Vanda Vályi of Hungary got the Extra Player Shot from the power play goal to tied the game 4-4. In the meantime, Simone van de Kraat of the Netherlands scored to get the Goal to bring the Dutch back the lead for the Netherlands 5-4. Then, Greta Kurucz-Gurisatti of Hungary tied the game at 5-5 for the Hungarian Team to catch up. After the technical foul of each player on one team. The goalie of the Netherlands made a long throw and give it to the Dutch player and pass it to Bente Rogge and scored the Counter Attack Goal to gain back the lead 6-5. The Hungarian Team wasn’t finished to bring back the equalizer goal and it was thanks to Vanda Valyi with a great passing from her teammates to level it up 6-6. It ends the 3rd Quarter with a tied game.








When the 4th and Final Quarter started, the Netherlands had the ball until a quick foul from Hungary, the Dutch players quickly pass it back to Maartje Keuning. It was a beautiful shot to regain the Netherlands to get the goal back 7-6. Not for long, when the Netherlands got an extra goal from a excellent backhand shot by Vivian Sevenich to help the Dutch team take an 8-6 lead. The Hungarian team refused to stay behind show the team passed the ball to each other until Vanda Valyi scored the goal on the right side of the post with a hat trick by getting closer to the Netherlands with 8-7 down by one. After both teams had committed fouls in some of the action, Dorottya Szilagyi of Hungary scored the Action Shot Goal to tied the game at 8-8.








By the 2 minute warning both teams took a quick timeout for a quick team huddle. Both teams had a chance but had some steals and turnover fouls. When it was reached to the last 40 seconds left on the clock, a huge goal from Lola Moolhuijzen who gives the Netherlands a 9-8 lead. By the time Hungary was on the attack with a thunderbolt shot from Krisztina Garda but it was is tipped on to the crossbar! Hungary had to pull their goalkeeper in an attempt to overpower the Dutch. Krisztina Garda of Hungary was caught for a foul but Bente Rogge escapes and fires into an empty net goal at the buzzer and scored for the buzzer beater with The Netherlands win their opening game in the women’s water polo competition 10-8.
