As the Host Nation France will play against Team USA as the 3 times Olympic Champions. The match will be played at the Aquatics Centre in Paris France. The Goalies would be Ashleigh Johnson of Team USA and Mia Rycraw for France.
The match started off with Rachel Fattal who has won the Sprint possession and gives it to her teammates. Then Lousie Guillet of France took the Action Shot which was Saved. After that, Jordan Raney of Team USA took the Centre Shot which it was however saved. Meanwhile, Camelia Bouloukbachi of France took the Action Shot as it hit the Post. After when Maddie Musselman took the shot on target, she took the Counter Attack Goal and opened up the board for Team USA 1-0. Then, Ema Vernoux of France took the Action Shot as the ball was saved by Johnson. Then Louise Guillet was caught for a Penalty Foul. During the Penalty Shootout, Jenna Lynn scored the shot as she lead the US 2-0. Meanwhile, Camelia Bouloukbachi of France tried to get the shot but it was saved. After that, Audrey Daule of France took the Action Goal while down halfway at 2-1 Not for long when Jovana Sekulic of Team USA took the Action Goal as they lead 3-1. Then Juliette Dhalluin of France took the 6 metre direct shot in free throw situation which it was Blocked by Team USA. Before it was done, Ashleigh Johnson took the long throw to the goal but it was missed on top of the net.
The 2nd Period started when Jewel Roemer of Team USA took the Extra Player Shot which it was Saved by France. Then Camelia Bouloukbachi of France was called for Centre forward position exclusion. Meanwhile, Jewel Roemer of Team USA took the Extra Player Shot Goal and give the USA lead 4-1. It wasn’t for long when Orsolya Hertzka of France took the Action Shot Goal has the US lead by half 4-2. Then, Aurelie Battu of France was called for Centre forward position exclusion which gives Maddie Musselman of USA to score the amazing fireball goal as they lead 5-2. After that, Camelia Bouloukbachi took the Shot for France which it was Blocked by Ashleigh Johnson. Orsolya Hertzka of France was called for Field exclusion as Team USA gives 2 passes to Rachel Fattal when she got the Extra Player Goal while trailing the lead 6-2. After that, Valentine Heurtaux of France took Extra Player Shot but hit the Post, which Audrey Daule Rebound and Ema Vernoux took the Extra Player Shot which it was Missed. After that, Rachel Fattal took the Action Shot – Goal as the USA lead France 7-2. Team has continued to lagged the ball and very little communication while not using enough action on passing to their teammates which has been the struggle for them. While USA continued to use the force like Capitan America for possession of the ball. It wasn’t for long when Juliette Dhalluin took the Extra Player Shot and got the Goal for France 7-3. Lastly, Team France took the action by Lousie Guillet except it was saved right at the time by Halftime.
The 3rd Period started when, Lousie Guillet of France took the Action Shot which it was blocked by Johnson. Then, Camille Radosavljevic and Audrey Daule of France each took the Action Goal which it was Saved. After that, Orsolya Hertzka took the Action Goal for France as they got themselves while down 7-4. Then, Maggie Steffens of Team USA took the Extra Player Shot which it was Saved by Mia Rycraw the French Goalkeeper. After that, Maddie Musselman of USA scored the Extra Player Shot Goal to get the Hat Trick from the help of her teammates while leading France 8-4. Juliette Dhalluin of France took the Action Shot which was missed out of bounds and Camille Radosavljevic was called for Centre forward position exclusion. When Rachel Fattal took the Extra Player Shot Goal as her 2 teammates passed it to her and scored USA 9-4. Jenna Flynn took the Counter Attack Goal 10-4, which after the Timeout Call, Jordan Raney took the Extra Player Shot as she scored the Goal 11-4. While USA took theTop Speed to other side of the pool before the Juliette Dhalluin of France was caught for a Penalty Foul which gives the US the penalty shot and Ryann Neushul took the massive lead 12-4 in the 3rd Period. Then Tiziana Raspo of France took the Action Shot Goal while USA still lead them 12-5. Lastly, Ryann Neushul of Team USA took the Centre Shot Goal as they continue on to resume the lead 13-5. France has had difficulty generating points including has spent little opportunity to play with the ball due to their ongoing poor handling of the ball, insufficient communication, and immobility while moving the ball to teammates.
During the 4th Period, Tiziana Raspo of France was called for Penalty Foul as Rachel Fattal took the Penalty Shot which Mia Rycraw the French Goalkeeper saved it from getting another goal. Then Maggie Seffens took the Centre Shot Goal for Team USA 14-5. After that Tara Prentice of France took the Action Shot as it hit the Post which France was going to score but didnt realize it was hit in the post. Orsolya Hertzka of France was called for Centre forward position exclusion. While Team continued to score another Extra Player Shot Goal which it was Maddie Musselman’s 4th Goal of the Match leading the US 15-5. Then Ryann Neushul was called for Centre forward position exclusion. Then, Valentine Heurtaux of France got the Shot on Target which Johnson was able to save it which she has been outstanding throughout the match. After when Team USA took the Timeout, Goalkeeper Amanda Longan substituted Ashleigh Johnson. Subsequently, Ryann Neushul took 2 Action Shot which it was hit by the Post but quickly got the ball back and it was saved by Rycraw. When France took the Timeout, Goalkeeper Pasiphae Lalou St. Martineaud Peret substituted Mia Rycraw. Kaleigh Gilchrist of Team USA took the Action Shot Goal as Team USA went infinity 16-5. Orsolya Hertzka of France took the shot which it was missed. Juliette Dhalluin of France was caught for Centre forward position exclusion and got the Red Card. Jenna Flynn scored the Extra Player Shot as she got herself the Hat Trick 17-5. This is the second player of Team USA who took the Hat trick in this match. Lastly, Camelia Bouloukbachi took the Action Shot as Amanda Longan saved the ball to wrapped up the Match.
The United States had an amazing win 17-5, as they will advance another Olympics Spot to go to the Quarterfinals as they hope to get their 4th Gold Medal in a row which it could possibly happen in Women’s Water Polo History as other Countries are willing to play against Team USA to get Gold Medal.
