
Team USA has been one of the greatest Teams in Women’s Water Polo as they won 3 Gold Medals in the last 3 Olympic Tournaments, while the Aussie Stingers have been doing terrific on their Playoff run and the Preliminary Round. Team Australia had some unforgettable victories like the longest Penalty Shootout against The Netherlands, the edge to Victory against Hungary in Shootouts and They’ve been Undefeated in the Group A Division for Women’s Water Polo Group. The Match will be held at Paris La Defense Arena in Paris, France. It was also a sold out crowd which it had been the most Accomplish Moment in Women’s Water Polo History with the extension of fans supporting them.
The 1st Period began with, both USA and Australia with the turnover foul and then Maddie Musselman took the Action Shot but it was missed out of Bounds. Then Abby Andrews took the Action Shot and it was saved by Team USA. After that, Jordan Raney took the Action Shot and it was saved by Australia. Zoe Arancini of Australia encouraged her teammates to pass the ball as she took the Exira Player Shot but went out of bounds. However, Zoe Arancini was caught for a Penalty Foul and allowed Team USA to take penalty shot and Kaleigh Gilchrist scored the first Goal as they lead 1-0. Then Alice Williams took the power Shot and it was blocked by the American Defense. Then Alice Williams was called for Penalty Foul and Jenna Flynn took the Penalty Shot for Team USA and Gabriella Palm took the saved for the Aussie Stingers. Tilly Kearns of Australia took the Centre Shot and it was saved, but it didn’t stop when Charlize Andrews took the Action Shot but it was saved by Ashleigh Johnson the American Goalkeeper. After that, Jenna Flynn asked her teammates to pass the ball as they give her the ball back and scored the Extra Player Shot Goal as they lead 2-0. Danijela Jackovich of Australia took the Centre Shot as the ball was saved by Johnson. After that, Ryann Neushul of Team USA took the Action Shot and it was blocked by the Aussie Defense. Before the end of the first Period, Charlize Andrews took the Action Shot and scored the opening Goal for the Stingers while still down by one with the result of 2-1.

The 2nd Period started with when Bronte Halligan of Australia took the Extra Player Shot but the Americans were able to block the ball to avoid the tying goal. Then Rachel Fattal of Team USA took the Action Shot as it was hit by the Post off the crossbar. As Jewel Roemer of Team USA was going to gain the lead for Team USA, it was blocked by the Stingers. Meanwhile, Tara Prentice took the Action Shot and it was Saved by Australia. Maddie Musselman took the Extra Player Shot and scored the Goal for Team USA 3-1. Afterwards, Zoe Arancini took the Action Shot for Australia and scored the Goal 3-2. Then Charlize took the Action Shot for Australia and the Goal was saved by Johnson. Then Kaleigh Gilchrist took the Extra Player Shot and Palm was able to save it from going in the net. Then Elle Armit rebounded the ball and give it to Abby Andrews and took the Action Shot which it was hit the Post off the crossbar. Then Ryann Neushul took the Action Shot for Team USAwhich it was saved by Australia, as Jovanna Sekulic quickly rebound the ball back and took the Centre Shot Goal for Team USA as they lead by half 4-2. Emily Mary Ausmus of Team USA took the Counter Attack Goal as she scored the Goal 5-2 before Halftime. When Alice Williams was going to score the buzzer beater Goal for Australia as she takes the Action Shot but was missed out of bounds.


The third period began with Abby Andrews scoring the first Action Goal of the second half, but still behind by two, 5-3. Then Team USA’s Jewel Roemer took the action, hitting the post off the crossbar. After that, Abby Andrews scored an incredible goal to take the Action Shot and push them closer to Team USA 5–4. Gabriella Palm of Australia then made the save after Maggie Steffens of Team USA took the Action Shot. The Stingers’ Bronte Halligan attempted the Action Shot, but Team USA prevented it. Subsequently, Australia blocked Ryann Newshul’s 6-meter direct attempt during a free throw scenario for Team USA. Rachel Fattal of Team USA took the Extra Player Shot, which was saved; shortly after, Abby Andrews of Australia scored the Hat Trick by taking the Supercharge Goal with the score knotted at 5-5. The USA regained the lead with a 6-5 score when Jenna Flynn took the Action Shot and scored the incredible goal. Thanks to her teammates’ collaboration, Abby Andrews scored Australia’s fourth goal in a succession. Not for long, though, as Australia’s Bronte Halligan scored an Amazing Shot as they drew regardless of with the surviving Champions Team USA 8–7. Following that, Australia’s Sienna Green attempted an Action Shot that was saved, but she was ultimately deemed responsible of Player Exclusion and given a Red Card, ending her play in this match.
