They will take on Spain Today for the special moment for return of getting the Gold for the Aussie Stingers for the first time since they hosed the Sydney Olympics in 2000. Both Australia and Spain are currently unbeaten on the other hand. The Australian players, coaches, and supporters were excited to bring in the moment with so many fans of themselves knowing that they will play with all of their hearts. After both finalists teams went through the Paris Olympics Tournament without losing, a phenomenal achievement for both teams, the Australian Stingers will take on Spain. The Match will take place at Paris La Defense Arena in Paris France which it has been a sold out crowd cheering on for their nations. Both Australia and Spain had made all 8 appearances since Women’s Water Polo began in 2000 when it was hosted at the Sydney Olympics.

The 1st Quarter began with Judith Froca Arzia of Spain who took the Action Shot which it was saved. Then Paula Crespi Barriga of Spain was caught for a Penalty Foul and Alice Williams of Australia took the Penalty Shot and scored the opening goal for the Aussie Stingers as they lead 1-0. Quickly afterwards, Paula Leiton Arrones took the Centre Shot and tied the Goal as they leveled it up at 1-1. Then Alice Williams took the Action Shot and it was saved by the Maritna Terre Goalkeeper of Spain. Judith Froca Arzia of Spain took the Extra Player Shot which it was saved by Gabriella Palm of Australia. After that, Alice Williams took the Powerful Shot which it was saved. Elena Ruiz Barril of Spain took the long range shot which it was hit by the post as Tilly Kearns rebounded the ball. After that, Alice Williams took the Supercharge Goal as they tied it at 2-2.

The 2nd Quarter began with Keejsa Gofers of Australia who took the Power shot which it was saved by Spain. Then Anna Espar Llaquet passed it to Elena Ruiz Barril and Bea Ortiz of Spain took the wickedly shot the ball but it was saved by Australia. Then Maica Garcia Godoy took the Extra Player Shot and it was saved by Palm. The Stingers has continued to play the power with the defense and couldn’t capitalize to regain the lead. After that, Zoe Arancini of the Stingers the Action Shot which it was saved by the Spaniard Goalkeeper. Then Bronte Halligan passed it to Charlize Andrews, Alice Williams and give it to Tilly Kearns took the Shot and it was saved by Martina Terre. After that, 3 passed it to Maica Garcia Godoy scored the goal for Spain as they lead 3-2. Elle Armit of Australia took the Action Shot but it was saved which fun fact that she is High School Teacher, PE, English and Religion which she now playing for the Olympics in Water Polo for the Stingers. Before Halftime, Alice Williams took the long range shot and it was saved.

The 3rd Quarter began with Bea Ortiz of Spain who took the Penalty Shot and scored the Goal for Spain 5-2. Then Halligan passed it to Williams, Charlize Andrews and Abby Andrews took the Goal hoping to catch up to Spain 5-3. Bea Ortiz of Spain took the 6 metre direct shot in free throw situation and scored the Goal for Spain as they lead by half 6-3. Nona Perez Vivas of Spain took the Action Shot which it was saved by Australia. Then Charlize Andrews took the Goal but Anni Espar Llaquet of Spain was called for Centre forward position exclusion which the goal will not count. After an Australian timeout, Australia teamed up to pass the ball and Alice Williams of Australia scored the Goal while catching up to them 6-4 which it was close but the Goal was in the 2 metre line. Australia took the steal and had called for turnover fouls until Gabriella Palm the Goalkeeper was caught for contacting Spain. Anni Espar Llaquet of Spain took the Penalty Shot and scored the Goal as they lead 7-4. Not for long when Zoe Arancini took the Extra Player Shot which it was saved, but quickly rebounded it to Danijela Jackovich and scored her first Olympic Goal for Australia 7-5.

The Last Quarter is the moment that one team could take Gold with a Perfect Record and one Team could ended in a defeat to end their undefeated streak, it began with Anni Espar Llaquet took the Action Shot and it was saved by Australia. Then Charlize Andrews took the Action Shot for Australia and it was saved. Then Nona Perez Vivas of Spain was called for Exclusion, which Australia regain the ball and Bronte Halligan hit the Post as she tried to sorted the goal. Then Sienna Green rebound the ball to Williams and it was saved. Then Bronte Halligan passed it to Sienna Hearn and made a supercharge Goal as the fans brought in the excitement 7-6. Then Bea Ortiz of Spain scored the Goal to regain the lead 8-6. 9 4 7 Maica Garcia Godoy of Spain took the Goal for Spain 9-6. After that, Australia took a tremendous pass from Bronte Halligan and give it to Alice Williams as she scored the Goal for Australia 9-7. Spain took the risk of passing around the circle and Anni Espar Llaquet who scored the Goal for Spain as they lead by 3 goals 10-7. Australia took the passed in the circle as Abby Andrews took the Shot which Martina Terre was excited as she saved it, Maica Garcia Godoy of Spain scored her hat trick for Spain as they lead Australia 11-7. Bec Rippon the Head Coach of Australia did a great speech for wisdom words to tell them to play their hearts out. Tilly Kearns of Austrila took the Extra Player Shot but it was missed out of bounds. Sienna Hearns of Australia took the distance swim and scored the Goal with a bounce in the pool and then into the net as 11-8. Keesja Gofers took the steal and Alice Williams took the Counter Attack Goal as she got her 5th Goal of the Match. The match ended with Spain taking Gold as all of the players went to the pool swimming with the excitement and tears of joy since they played their hearts out as they finished silver in the 2012 and 2020 Olympics against the USA as they finally get Gold against Australia. Coach Miguel Angel Oca Gaia of Spain was thrilled about the moment taking Gold.

This is the first time that Spain Gets Gold in Team History as Australia will take silver as Australia has got Gold in the Debut of the Women’s Water Polo Tournament in 2000, Bronze in 2008, 2012 which Spain has finally achieved the Gold as they wanted to take home Gold. The Stingers put all of their effort to work their way to the Gold Medal Match which they should be proud of themselves like the Matildas when they hosted the Australian Women’s World Cup Soccer Tournament in 2023 even they had the greatest victory in penalty shootout against France while the Stingers played against the Netherlands in the Preliminary Match. Australia has strived themselves to be Olympic Stars and hoping one day they can get the funding to extend the Water Polo Association of Australia.
