The Netherlands has achieved an amazing success being the best team in the world and have been undefeated in the Women’s Field Hockey Tournament in the Paris Olympics. The Orange Ladies has won Gold Medal in the Tokyo Olympics without fans but this time it could be the moment to win Gold with all of the fans sold out with a heavy amount of Dutch fans in Paris. The match will take place at Yves-du-Manoir Stadium in Paris, France.
The first Period began with the Netherlands taking control of ball in possession of control. Then Yi Chen of China took the early Goal at the 7th minute which would last most of the match. The Netherlands had attempted to get some moments but couldn’t capitalize the goal to tie it up while China stayed firm with the defense refusing the Netherlands to get through the offense side. After that, Xan de Waard of the Netherlands took the Shot on target which it was saved but had the right away to level it up. During the 2nd Period, Marijn Veen of the Netherlands took the Shot on Goal which it was saved by the Chinese Goalkeeper. While the Netherlands took their first Penalty Corner, as Frédérique Matla. took the Shot which it ended up hitting the Post. Then Yibbi Jansen of the Netherlands also took the Penalty Corner Shot which it was saved but sadly couldn’t conclude the moment. While Freeke Moes of the Netherlands took the Shot on Goal which the Dutch Team couldn’t find a solution to keep up the ball to score the Goal which it landed it at Halftime while The Netherlands are down 1-0.
The 2nd Half began with Marijn Veen of The Netherlands who took the Shot on Target which the Goalkeeper of China was able to saved it. Then Meirong Zou of China took the Shot but was missed. After that, Luna Now Fokke of the Netherlands took the Shot but whacked the ball out of bounds. Frédérique Matla of The Netherlands took the Penalty Shot Corner but missed the opportunity to level it up. During the 4th Period, Bingfeng Gu of China took the penalty corner shot but Anne Veenedaal the Dutch Goalkeeper was able to saved it. Then Xan de Waard of the Netherlands took the shot on Goal which Jaio Ye the Goalkeeper of China was able to stop the ball. After that, The Netherlands took the Penalty Corner Shot and it was thanks to Yibbi Jansen who scored the Goal as the deadlock is broken for the Dutch Team at the 51st minute as it leveled at 1-1. The Dutch fans have brought in the energy in Paris. Frédérique Matla of The Netherlands took the Shot on Goal which it was saved by the Chinese Goalkeeper. The Netherlands wanted to review the play which the referee was able to check the play as China was caught for a foot and dangerous play as one of them nearly hit the dutch player in the face as China was able to whack the ball out of the way. Last to wrap up regulation time was China nearly got the winning goal but missed he opportunity as the match ended regulation time at 1-1
They both went to Penalty Shoutouts as only one team can take Gold to win it. Jaio Ye the Goalkeeper of China will start to defend the Dutch Team while Anne Veenedaal of the Netherlands would stop China from getting Gold. It started with Pien Sanders of the Netherlands and it was good leading 1-0. Then Jiangxin He of China took the shot and the Dutch Goalkeeper was able to block the ball from going in. After that, Maria Verschoor of the Netherlands took the shot and sideways the Goalkeeper and scored 2-0 for the Dutch Team as they roared the energy level at high steaks. Meirong Zou of China took the shot but Anne Veenedaal was able to take it out of their territory. While Freeke Moes of the Netherlands was hoping to take the winning shot but her time was up as she scored after the 8 seconds was up which it was disallowed. Then Jiaqi Zhong of China took the shot and put them on the board 2-1. After that, Marijn Veen of the Netherlands took the shot as she sideways and tapped to ball and whacked into the net to gain the lead 3-1. Lastly, Ning Ma of China was hoping to take the goal which Anne Veenedaal of the Dutch Goalkeeper was able to block the ball and the Netherlands has won the Gold Medal Match as they huddled in with the celebration and tears of joy as they will take 2 Olympics in a row to take Gold Medal.
As of this year, there the only team in the Women’s Field Hockey to have their Olympics Tournament undefeated with a perfect record and they have scored on an average of 3 to 6 goals which before that it was a 2-1 victory. The Fans are thrilled to see the Orange Ladies take Gold and this is also the First time in Netherlands History that both men and Women to take home Gold and their the Best Hockey Team in the World.
The Dutch fans has showed pride that Hockey is one of the most popular sport in Europe and hopefully gain more fans to make Field Hockey the most popular sport of the Country.
