
The New York Mets had their first playoff’s series win in Queens for the first time since 2000 as it was the last Shea Stadium home victory.
It was Game 4 in the Division Series and one team would have to win in the best of the 3 in the series. The New York Mets played against the Philadelphia Phillies as they played at Citi Field in Queens, New York. It was a sold out crowd as fans are hoping to see the Mets win the series on home field for the first time since 2000 at Shea Stadium. While the 2015 Mets won every series away before they got defeated in the World Series against Kansas City Royals. The weather was sunny and breezy for sweater weather.
The game started with Jose Quintana who is the starting pitcher for the Mets while Ranger Suárez started for the Phillies. It began with Starling Marte as it was his birthday and got his birthday wish to catch a fly ball in the top of the first inning. Then in the bottom of the first inning with the bases loaded, Jose Iglesias and J.D. Martinez each got a strikeout as Ranger Suárez the Phillies pitcher was able to held it together to avoid the early runs. In the Top of the 2nd Inning, Jose Quintana the Mets Pitcher was able to strikeout Bryson Stott as the home crowd cheered for the moment on home field. During the highlight of bottom of the 2nd inning, Francisco Lindor of the Mets was not happy with the call from the umpire which he thought the ball hit the ground but it somehow missed him. In the top of the 4th inning, Nick Castellanos doubles on a sharp fly ball to left fielder Brandon Nimmo as Harper ran to 3rd base. Then Alec Bohm swings the ball to Mark Vientos as he was about to get the Phillies out but wasn’t able to pick up the ball in time and the Phillies lead the Mets 1-0. In the top of the 5th inning, Jose Quintana accidentally threw the ball and hit Kyle Schwarber in the back which he was able to bounce back for a strikeout by Trea Turner to wrap up the inning. The Mets had a chance from Fransisco Lindor in the bottom of the 5th inning with a Double. Mark Vientos walks which then ended with 2 strikeouts and ground out.









In the Bottom of the 6th inning, The Mets had their momentum to shine as it began with J.D. Martinez as he singles it on a ground ball to the center. Then Starling Marte took the bat, while Jeff Hoffman threw a wild pitch and Martinez steals it to 2nd base. Then Starling Marte was hit by pitch and walked to 1st base. After that, Tyrone Taylor bats up and Hoffman threw another wild pitch as Martinez ran to 3rd base and Marte ran to 2nd base which both players were able to steal off another base to get closer to home base. Then Tyrone Taylor walks to 1st base and all of the bases were loaded. After that, Francisco Alvarez grounds into a force out, as shortstop player Trea Turner took the sacrifice to get J.D Martinez out on home plate as Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto was able to stay on home base to avoid the Mets tying run. Then the Phillies changed pitchers as Carlos Estévez replaced Jeff Hoffman as he takes over. Then the Mets fans were ready to raise their rags and cheers for Fransisco Lindor as he was able to batted it up. With all of the bases loaded with 1 out and 2 balls and 1 strike, Francisco Lindor took the sacrifice Grand Slam as the ball went the gap into right center field and hit the away bullpen wall with the 50/50 Jackpot Sign. All of the Mets Players were able to ran home and the fans were excited and thrilled about the Grand Slam moment. The Mets became electrified as they were vanished most of the game until Lindor’s Grand Slam as the New York Mets lead the Phillies 4-1. After that, he cheered with his fans and his teammates as he also got in the picture holding the OMG Sign. The New York Mets has continued to get their good luck season. The Celebrations has just started which there’s still time to change up the game.








During the Top of the 7th inning, David Peterson pitched for the Mets and got his highlight moment when he pitched to Schwarber and swing the bat as it landed to Jose Iglesias and gives it to Lindor which gives it to Alonso for a doubleheader. The Mets and David Peterson were excited with this moment to avoid extra runs for the Phillies. During the Bottom of the 7th inning, Pete Alonso hits a double on a ground ball to left field. In the top of the 8th inning, Alec Bohm grounds it as David Peterson almost caught the ball while it rolled over to Francisco Lindor as he steps on 2nd base as sideline retired with the 3rd out. In the top of the 9th inning, the closing pitcher Edwin Diáz was ready to give hopes for the Mets to win the Division Series at Home Field. It was off to a rocky start with both walks from J.T. Realmuto and Bryson Stott. The fans were not too impressed with Diaz’s performance as they thought he would blown the victory path for a possible comeback for the Phillies as it could go back to blown leads like in 2019. Then Edwin Diáz talked to Fransisco Alvarez the Mets Catcher and the rest of the teammates that he needed help to survive the struggles before he jeopardizes the home victory. When he was ready to redeem himself, Phillies player, Kody Clemens was ready to batter up and got a strikeout below the box. Most of the fans were going to believe the moment as Diaz took the strike zone back and ready to throw more absorptive what would’ve been in the beginning of the inning. Then Brandon Marsh swung the bat and got a fly out as Harrison Bader was able to catch the ball and fans began to believe that the moment can be saved. Lastly, Kyle Schwarber was going to hope the Phillies would get the tying run but Edwin Diáz was able to strike him out and the Mets has won the Divisional Series as they got their first Home Series victory in Citi Field History. The Mets celebrated At Francisco Lindor’s spot because he was the one that give the Mets a Grand Slam.













The Celebrations of the New York Mets winning their first home series for the first time in 24 years as they won the Division Series as they will play against the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Championship Series. The New York Mets had a lot of fun with the fans and their members to let out every little moment of excitement and joy to keep on smiling. Brandon Nimmo also had an amazing interview about his dream team to make it to the playoffs with his dream team and winning the series at Citi Field while he raised his emotion on everything he could do on this phenomenal night. The team had group pictures and celebrations. Then a group of players of wives and girlfriends took a group photo. Jeff McNeil came back just in time to celebrate the Mets victory for their Divisional Series win at Citi Field after his wife give birth earlier this month.

















Then the group had a celebration in the Mets Locker Room and threw bottles of champagne and smoke cigars to have a good time. Even Mets Manager Carlos Mendoza was proud of the team and put in all of the effort with this team as they believe in miracles. When the party faded, each and every player had an interview even the Mets members with Steve Cohen the Mets current owner of the team. Brandon Nimmo talked about his journey with the Mets as he was drafted in 2011 and it was dream come true to be a Mets player as he kept his humbled side and was so grateful for the opportunity to play for the Mets. Francisco Lindor also had an interview along with his youngest daughter. Jeff McNeil was shocked when he saw Lindor when he got the Grand Slam and Pete Alonso give his effort for being the best team in the league which it was a great feeling winning the series at Citi Field.
