It was a sold out crowd which some of the fans couldn’t make it to last season’s Home opener because of Hurricane Milton the night before it destroyed most of Florida.

The period opened with high energy, as Connor Bedard rang the crossbar early, but the Blackhawks struck first midway through on a breakaway. Assists: Tyler Bertuzzi and Teuvo Teravainen. This young prospect’s speed gave Chicago a spark under new coach Jeff Blashill. The Florida Panthers responded with an aggressive turnaround as A.J. Greer tied it on a gritty fourth-line play, capitalizing on a rebound or setup. Assists: Gustav Forsling and Jonah Gadjovich. This “fourth-line magic” showcased Florida’s depth. The Panthers responded aggressively, outshooting Chicago 17-3 and dominating possession of the 1st Period as the Panthers took the lead 2-1.

Second Period: Blackhawks Tie It (End: 2-2)

Chicago improved, generating more zone time and testing Bobrovsky (who finished with 17 saves). The Blackhawks’ second line drove the action. Teuvo Teravainen evened it up, scoring on a setup from Nazar (who had a goal and assist). This multi-point night from the duo highlighted Chicago’s young talent. Goal (Tie 2-2, 18:51 in Period). Florida’s penalty kill shone, allowing just two shots on three Chicago power plays. 51 Shots favored Panthers 26-14 entering the third.

Third Period: Panthers Seal the Win (Final: FLA 3-2 CHI)

The period stayed tense, with both teams trading chances. Bobrovsky made clutch stops, including late on an extra-attacker Blackhawks push.Jesper Boqvist delivered the game-winner on a bizarre play—Mackie Samoskevich chipped a loose puck, and Boqvist batted it out of mid-air past Knight. Assists: Evan Rodrigues and Samoskevich as the Panthers scored the winning Goal (FLA 3-2, 10:20 remaining). This depth heroics from Boqvist proved decisive. Florida clamped down defensively, with the Forsling-Ekblad pairing shutting down Bedard and co. Knight’s glove save on a Panthers chance was a highlight for Chicago, but they couldn’t equalize. The Florida Panthers hoped to scored the late empty net but the Chicago Blackhawks defense was lucky to avoid another Panthers goal which it wasn’t enough to get the last second draw which would force to Overtime. The Florida Panthers have won Home opening Night as they won 3-2 to start the 2025/2026 on a good note. The fans threw plastic rats on the ice as usual when the Panthers take victories at Home.
