In the first episode, she was on Team Lagi and was happy to be part of the team as she came on a boat with her teammates. Then she saw Jeff Probst the host of the show Survivor on CBS. The group began the first challenge was Marooning Challenge, and everyone had to dig through the mud and get the treasure chest. Eva teamed up with Shauhin to do the challenge and managed to make back. Then she worked with Bianca and Joe to work as a team, as she climbed up to get the sandbag and brought the rest of them to go get the key. When they came back, Thomas opened the treasure chest and tried to shoot it on the basket. Star was able to shoot the basket and Thomas was able to succeeded it the second time and Shauhin was able to help Lagi win the first challenge. The group were happy to go on their island, as she got of the boat and splashed themselves after they got dried up with the mud. Team Lagi was excited and screaming like animals. Eva decided to introduce herself as the group went back on the sand, and told everyone that “I played Hockey my whole life.”

Eva decided to introduce herself as the group went back on the sand, and told everyone that “I played Hockey my whole life.”

Then the group went to the campground of the island for Team Lagi which is also known as the purple team. Eva started off with bringing the bamboos to the tribe and brought in as much as possible. She finds a way to keep her self fixated on the bamboos which he was able to have structure like taking the bamboos so the group can make a fire. She was able to talk about her Autism one her own interview, she is also a directed and she was hoping people would be directed with her, while not everyone would later in the challenge. Joe was able to make the fire and Eva brought him the twigs. Eva found the partner to show her comfort zone and his name was Joe Hunter. He was a Firefighter from California and she knew that Joe would be a great ally because of his loyalty and trust. Later on, Eva showed the guys that she brought in a coconut and have the rest of it at the beach. She told Joe afterwards that she was diagnosed with Autism, when it was just them walking through the jungle. She also explained Joe about the strategy of the game and how to get comfort when she gets an episode incase if something happens as Joe would hold her hands and tell her that it’s okay.

On Day 3, it was the Immunity Challenge and the idea was to run over the net and climb and go down to the ground, then run underneath the netted tunnel.  Joe on Team Lagi used a Fijian war club to smash a mask, releasing a box with a key in it. The key unlocked a heavy sled that the whole team moved down a track, as Eva and Joe worked together to move some sandbags into the box. After that, the group held the box to go over the sandbags, and finally up an incline to the top of a tall platform. Blanca and Thomas then used the pieces inside the sled to assemble a Survivor logo puzzle. Eva did a great eye for the puzzle piece for the correct piece and they won the Immunity Challenge.

Team Lagi had a lot of athletes and told the team that she played hockey when she was 3 years old and loved the sport since then.

On Day 4, Team began their moment when had a chat in the ocean and stick with a good plan. Back on land, Eva asked the group to focus on physical strength and being prepared for the next challenge as to sit one person out. While rest of Team Lagi were finding a clue for the puzzle piece, it was moment when some of them became and started sabotaging one person. Eva was enjoying drinking coconut water and came down to the beach as she seen Joe being frustrating bout trust and loyalty while cutting pieces of a coconut. Joe tells Eva that Star wanted Eva as a Beware Advantage which she was glad that Joe wanted to let her know just to stay loyal with each other. Later at the Lagi Tribe, Shauhin added the name of the wifi on the tree, just to make sure that Camp Survivor is more tolerable. Eva came by to read the wifi and found a plug in to use it for the electronic devices as the wifi was dig48 and Shauhin said “You got to dig!” Eva giggled as is was the joke for the Camp site for a pretend electronic station on one of the palm tree. Then the boat was going to arrived at the ocean and Shauhin shouted “Boat” and everyone came by to meet up as a group. Then he read the note that “One person must get on this boat for a journey.” When the group played rock paper scissors, Thomas was it and went on the boat to find a clue. He was able to solve the puzzle before time runs out and went back to the island to tell the group that you can win an advantage and you don’t get to vote if you lose, as he protected his vote by not playing as the group was in shock.

On Day 5, The team did the challenge and it begins with going on the ladder and Shauhin jumped into the ocean. He then went to hold the rope and move underwater to unlock the two buoys. The call was good while Eva and Joe worked together to run and dive into the ocean. The two worked together to transport the buoys with the balance beams and made it successfully. Joe threw a 55 yard pass from one of the buoys as they both swam to the finishing part of the race, and let Bianca and Thomas did what Eva and Joe did before. Eva was able to shoot the buoys into the hoop and got 3 shots in a row so Joe did the last 2 shots when came close as they finished 2nd Place. Eva took the smaller trophy and they got themselves a smaller fishing kit.

Day 6 at Team Lagi, during a deleted scene footage, It was Sunrise and Shauhin was doing meditation at the beach. However, Star was telling a story to the rest of the Lagi Team, and it was disturbing Shaun’s moment of concentration. He was frustrated that he wasn’t able to finish meditating, so he decided to watch Eva coconuts. Later that morning on the regular airing, Joe was stacking wood to make a bonfire for the whole team. Eva and Joe decided to resume the conversation at the Beach to explain about anything and managed to speak the same language. That evening, most of Team Lagi came together while Star was still looking for the clues, Joe added the fire to wow his teammates for the bonfire. Eva had her interview herself to the audience that “I’m from Minnesota, and we have cabin that’s in Chippewa National Forest. And so, me anomy dad always build these huge fires that are so big that people come across the lake, thinking that our cabin’s on fire.” She felt like that Joe building the bonfire makes her fell super close to her family with the special connection, as she wants to bring in gratitude. She made a bracelet for Joe’s Daughter for her just to keep it when he gets home. She’ also replied “This is the most Lagi thing I’ve ever seen.”

The next morning on Day 7, she had a chat with Star while finding bonds for treasure in the jungle. Eva didn’t seemed like that Star was being truthful at first and she was focused on checking if Star is telling the truth or not. She explained to herself at the audience that having Autism, that sometimes struggled with recognizing small social cues, such as not knowing if someone is lying to her. Later, the group came to see Jeff for the Immunity Challenge as the group had to be blindfolded to find treasures. Bianca and Eva decided to sit out and cheer on their teammates. Joe got wet from the bucket, and the girls were having a side by side conversation while watching team Lagi play in action. While the rest did the sliding puzzle after the rest of the challenge, and Team Lagi won the Immunity Challenge as they remain undefeated in the Immunity challenge. Thomas got the large trophy and they earned themselves 2 comfy hammocks. However, Bianca was taken to Monu Island and had to roll seven dice with flames and skulls until she got four, which she rolled 4 skulls. She came back to the island told that she lost her vote so she told a lie like talking about the ropes and walked away, but Bianca secretly told Thomas about she lost her vote with the dice tournament.

On Day 8, all teams came out to see Jeff but it was going to be difficult situation, as Jeff announced the news after some questioning topics, he said “Everybody drop your buffs, we are switching tribes”. Each survivor selected a packaged buff from a tray. It was time for some players to change on different tribes into different teams. Eva doesn’t usually handle change well because she’s also scared that Joe is moving to the Vula Team and it was her #1 priority to tell him about her Autism, as she was unhedged about changing different teammates. The new tribes are: Civa-Bianca, Cedrek, Chrissy, Mitch, Saiounia; Lagi-Charity, David, Eva, Mary, Star; Vula-Joe, Kamilla, Kyle, Shauhin, Thomas.

End of the line with the Original Lagi Team
Eva felt unsure about changes
The New Lagi teammates

Later that day, the new players were excited to go the Island where Team Lagi hangout during their downtime. Eva showed to them that the place has hanging trees, hammocks, and shelters, as she noticed it was all girls in this change because she was used to all men, even when she used to play in the Men’s Hockey Team. Eva already became close with the only guy David as he mentioned that he’s a stunt performer and got really excited to chat with him. She talked about Water Sports and David loved water sports and other cool stuff. She wanted David to be his priority as Joe moved on to the Vula Team, and Eva talked yo the rest of the group to put Star on the Beware Advantage. After that, David and Eva went for another walk in the jungle to talk about the Eva doesn’t work with an all girls team because she’s used being in an all mens team like she played for the Men’s Hockey Team, while David have 3 sisters and no brothers as he treated her girl like the princess. David is also used to being an all girls group as he was thankful to be in an all girl. He told all of the girls had he had a girlfriend but recently broke up before being on the show. The girls loved having David because he’s super chill, relaxed and easy going. Then the group sat down, had food, and talked about water. David on the other hand doesn’t like to drink water as much and drinks chocolate milk and loved his chocolate milk. Meanwhile, he talked to Eva about the rest of the players on Civa that he wanted to sabotage Charity, because she is a threat, which doesn’t seemed trustworthy. They both agreed that they should take Charity off the bus if they don’t win the Immunity Challenge.

Eva and David were excited the first time they met

During the Immunity Challenge, Team Vula was excited as the California Girls Group that used to be on the Lagi Team, were screaming like wolves. Then Shauhin was eager to play the challenge and told Jeff the Host of Survivor that he is willing to win and help the Green Team turn around. The race began as the Tribes had to remove heavy sandbags from a large cube that they then moved under a high structure to retrieve two bags of small sandbags. Eva was on the corner of as she pushed the heavy cube with her teammates. She was also able to get the two small bags and she tossed the sandbag through a rectangular frame and land them on a barrel as David took the other sandbag. Team Lagi was fallen behind and rushed to dig up a large puzzle piece and race to a platform and build a temple puzzle. Charity, David and Eva worked together on the puzzle pieces, while Eva was great solving problems with the correct piece and they won the Immunity Challenge. Team Lagi was able to have a large platter of fruits and were excited to fill up food into their system.

Day 10 was the moment when Team Lagi was able to start their morning by seeing Jeff as they’re ready to do the next Reward Challenge by howling like a wolf as they’re excited to play the next challenge. Before the Reward Challenge, some of the contestants were shocked that Jeff announced that Thomas was voted out on the 9th Night of Survivor 48. The race began with everyone each taking a turn to throw sandbags at a rotating target to release a bag of three balls with a falling coconuts as they carried the 3 balls inside the bag. They then bounced the balls off a tight net into a basket as Mary, Star and David made it into the basket. Team Lagi were able to carried the basket to the final phase where they rolled the three balls on sloped platforms into three target holes. Eva was able to roll it in the smallest sloped platforms hole, and David rolled the ball into the medium sloped platforms hole and the largest sloped platforms hole and won the game. Mary talked to Jeff that she’s happy with the team and got leftover fruits from the last challenge.

When Team Lagi went to the Sanctuary Station on a sunny afternoon, there was a lot of beverages, cheese, coffee, pastries, and sandwiches. The group was thrilled to have all of the food in the choices of options to have. Eva was jumping for joy while having her croissant and David was eager for his container of milk, while Mary wanted a little bit of everything. Star was happy with beverages and food and Charity was thankful for the croissant since day 1. Everyone did cheers with their drinks as they enjoyed their moment of eating croissants. Charity was thankful that she get participate with group. Eva was a little unsure but couldn’t think of an idea as she said to herself “I’m bad at social cues in general, but I definitely feel like I’m growing and learning. And I don’t know what it is about Charity, but she comes off so fake to me. Going into the individual portion of the game, it’s gonna be all about these social connections. I really have to be careful and make sure that the people I’m talking to I can trust. And, you know what, Charity? I don’t trust you.” While the rest continued their conversations, Eva lay down and rested her full stomach and hoping to take a nap before the next tournament.

Day 11, it was the Immunity Challenge and the group had to get ready for the next challenge. They first jumped into the ocean and swam to shore pulling a boat with a chest in it. Eva, David, Mary and Charity then carried the chest up the beach where David had to unbraid ropes to retrieve a key to unlock the chest. David was able to dug in the chest for the four balls, as Mary got bag of the 4 balls which the rest of the team dug in the chest for four balls. Team Lagi then dug a passage under a log. Eva was about to go through underneath the log until she was stuck so the group continued to dug until the deep end to go through. Everyone was able to passed under the log, each tribe member had to mane uver a ball through a table maze to a different target hole. Eva struggled to mane uver a ball, as she give it to David the first time that she couldn’t do it. Team Lula got themselves their first win of the challenge throughout the series and two more teams had to finish the last challenge with the table to mane uver a ball. After her teammates succeeded the ball, Eva was the last person standing to get the last ball in the hole. Eva tried to get the last ball through a table maze to a target hole as she slowly got frustrated and upset. As Eva was getting flustered, Jeff can tell the face of Eva’s face with the anger of her game face as she refused to give up. Eva kept moving the ball a little too fast and easily getting upset that she would have to go back to the very beginning. Her teammates were trying to help her breathe and stay focused as her angry has taken over her ability to into the last hole. Eva began to cry and couldn’t finish the task as Team Civa was able to get the 3rd ball into the hole. Everyone was telling her to breath and Mary asked Eva “I can do it” as Eva felt discouraged at one moment when she was upset and said “I cannot” while Joe tell her that “You got it, sis.” While Eva was still sobbing, Jeff came in to support her that she’s been so many times as she tells her to bear down. She took a deep breath, which she finally stopped and focused on the ball through the maze and slowly moving to the final phase of the maze as she kept her game face on. While it landed to the most dangerous spot, she slowly move the table to right edge and the ball was able to poke down to the final hole and took 2nd place for the Immunity Challenge.

Jeff came to support Eva with her struggle of this challenge

Everyone was happy that Eva was able to complete the most difficult challenge and Eva screamed like a warrior that she finished the challenge for Team Lagi. Jeff replied “No quit in Survivor! Eva pulls it out for Lagi, sending Civa to Tribal Council, where somebody will be the fifth person voted out of Survivor 48. That was an epic finish.” Everyone of Team Lagi came to hug her as she resumed crying that it was overwhelmed with the Table Maze and everyone was sending heartwarming messages You can do anything ,girl, You’re a rockstar, Your dad would be so proud of you. You did it, I’m proud of you, you can do it, under pressure and you got it. Every member of Team Lagi gave her a hug and reassured her that everything would all go well with you. The instant Eva experienced one of these episodes, in which she overlapped and wailed loudly, she was overwhelmed, distraught and ungrounded, and she wailed while holding herself. Joe, who is not currently on Team Lagi, wanted to do something, but he couldn’t bear to see her weep. As Shauhin gave him a shoulder pat, Jeff suggested that Joe allowed him embrace Eva. Joe walked directly to a heartbroken Eva, who held her and took long breaths, wanting to grip his hands hard so she can stay grounded. Joe was able to firmly hold Eva’s hand and give her another round for a hug as he tells her “easy does it, comeback down out of it. Easy, slow your breath. Easy does it, try to calm down. You’re in a safe place.” Eva was forever grateful that Joe came to the rescue to keep her safe and relaxed to stop the crying. She felt better after a few squeezes and hugs. She gives him a million thank you for the love and patience that Joe was able to save her after the competition was over. The two duos went back to their current teams and the whole tribe clapped for her. Vula won the Immunity Idol and got their flint back to make fire again as Shauhin kissed the flint metal piece, while Eva and Team Lagi earned 2nd place for the Immunity Challenge, as the rest rooted on for Eva to her no quit mode of Survivor.

Joe comforted Eva for the greatest moment on Survivor 48

Following the challenge, Jeff wanted to talk about what happened in the challenge as Eva had an episode attributed to her moments when she was struggling emotionally and physical. Jeff also brought up a Special moment that the duo had a great connection together while Joe was a former teammate from the very beginning, and thought it was okay for him to hugged Eva. It was also revealed that the two teammates are in a relationship in Survivor 48. Jeff asked to talk about what happened, specifically asking Joe why it was important for him to give comfort to someone who was struggling to give comfort to the other tribe? Joe kept Eva’s autism out of his response, saying his kids were watching and he wants them to see him being the man, and the people that he wanted them them to be in regardless of the game. It was also part of his identity to show his true feelings about himself. He also mentioned that Eva wanted to get some love in need and would do the same thing for his daughter if she was in a tough situation. Jeff then explained Eva “what was happening for you?” She was ready to explained to everyone what happened and why, revealing her autism and how with the help of her parents and people like Joe. She was ready to bring up her speech and brought in something very important about her true story about herself “I am Autism. I was diagnosed when I was very very young. Doctors told my parents that I would never live independently, that I would never hold a job, that at most I could hope to marry someone else with Autism. And my parents they did not give up on me, and they put me through so many different treatments to help me get all of the support that I needed. And I was able to then enter school and be mainstream. So I’ve never viewed my autism as a roadblock to success. It’s not something to work around. It’s just part of who I am. There’s nothing bad about it. But I still have so many things that I struggle with my autism. I have these things called episodes where, when I get extremely overstimulated. I will get ungrounded, and I’ll lose control of myself. And luckily, I was able to still finish the challenge. I can’t believe I finished it. I can’t believe that happened. But when I did finish it, all of the sudden, everything came over me, and I got extremely overwhelmed, and I started screaming, and everyone saw that. And I know nobody else knew what was going on, but Joe knew, because I needed someone in this game to understand what was going on in case something happened. And that means the world to me, and that’s beyond this game. We’re on different teams, but he was willing to make sure that I was okay. Please, let’s take a step away from the game and understand that this is something that I deal with, with my autism. And everyone who has autism should not be ashamed to receive it. So, thank you all for allowing this to happen, allowing him to come and help me, and just supporting me in this.” Joe pointed at her that he will always come to her she is in need of the love and support, while the rest of tribe applauded her for telling the story about her Autism. Jeff also gives Eva credit for telling her story to bring out courage to play survivor, as he explained to her that maybe one day, a person with autism or individuals with a disability that wanted to join in on future generation of Survivor as these people get inspired from Eva, which it could be a girl or a boy just like her. Eva was the first official person to open up that she is on the Autism Spectrum, as Jeff also replied “Hey, Mom, hey, Dad” Now you got me as he started to shed a tear that because something like this can happen in the future. He also replied “I’m a parent, too. And I do see it, and…(laughs) Wow, this never happened. But I see it, too, and it’s why I love Survivor.” He also like the story that Eva and Joe had their together as it was the greatest moment in Survivor History as it could be a change for the best way of the show and act of kindness.

Back at the Island, everyone was having a wonderful celebrating Eva’s special moment after she openly announced that she was on the Autism Spectrum. The group were thankful that Eva was able to share her story and became so understanding about herself. Eva on the other hand was feeling good that she can prove herself that she is strong, and felt accepted. She also told the group that she never hated herself for having autism, as she kept her faith about for being grateful to be who she is. Star was thankful that Eva talked about the story about herself. Eva explained to the audience that people with autism and see it as a problem, which something is wrong with them. While nothing is wrong with an individual on the Autism Spectrum, It’s part of being who you are. Eva hoped to bring the message that she can bring across that everything she done in life and found a road to success. She also explained to the parents of kids with autism to look at their kid to see it like her, and share their story that could inspire them. Star and Mary each talk to Eva about that they’re proud of her accomplishments and talk about they can believe anything and do what they want if someone is on the Autism Spectrum, and prove that there not alone. Star announced that she wanted to join on Eva’s side and be part of her allies, while Star interview to the audiences that she has a family members that is on the autism spectrum, and understood that she had Autism and the often of struggles and the unique way of special interests. Star announced to replied to the whole group “Let me be open.” She wanted to ask the group to go for a clean game and tell the truth to each other. Star on the other hand still have the Beware Advantage which Eva surprised that Star was a great liar, which she still have but doesn’t know what to do with it. Eva knew Star since Day 3, but still have a scroll, cylinder as the group decided to help Star add the symbols from the letters and symbols which is based on the animal signs. The group went on a jungle trip to find the clue as a team. Eva decided to help out to decode on the scroll to find the animal symbols to make into a letter and found the letters of S, L, I, E, N and T. When Eva tried to open the cylinder and came up with words that related to these 6 letters. She started off with listen which it wasn’t the clue, as she tried Inlets, listen and linest which it wasn’t the correct puzzle piece. She used a stick to draw the word of the 6 letters on the dirt to strategize the words. Eva was strumming the words and finally got the word silent which it popped up and replied “I did it. I did it, I did it!” She found it and shout repeatedly got all excited that she solved the problem and the rest of her teammates were eager to see Eva find the cylinder code of the 6 letters and it was silent. Everyone was pleased to make Eva’s day to shine after the moment about her emotional journey in the Immunity Challenge and Star was able to give Eva the idol because she was lucky enough to open it and earned it for a game of truce by working together and it took 11 days to know each other. Eva was thankful that Team Lagi was able to show the love, support and gratitude for her love and passion of the game of Survivor. Eva felt stronger about herself as the group were able to show the bond while David and Charity were proud of her for the accomplishments to work as a team on Survivor. Eva and the rest of Lagi went to ocean as David, Mary and Star did a splash party in the ocean to end Eva’s special day because she loves going in the water.
