Our Autisticana News Media has finally reached to break barriers as we wanted people to learn how Autism is a special gift. We wanted to let the world know that some of us wanted to be included like the neurotypical people where they get to have social gatherings and go to interesting events or parties. Others wanted to be involved with a relationship this way they can someone who loves and respects their needs.
On the other hand, Dr. Christine Grimialdi opened up the Autisticana group in 2020 while the website was established in the end of Summer 2021. The group went on Field Trips and did educational tours which the group focused on positive interactions and the effective communication skills this way the individuals doesn’t have to feel anxious and depressed even at hard times. Christine taught the group how to publish blogs and create categories to discribe best for the individual to write their own blogs. They can write blogs about special topics or interests like Music, Animal, Nature, History, Recent Field Trips and current events that could bring good to the world. Sometimes we would have our Autisticana Social Party if it’s like a holiday themed party or a birthday celebration. While Inflation and hard times came back, our group did Zoom Meetings and virtual sessions like Virtual Trips and write stories together as a team and did yoga sessions. Christine also had weekly group sessions for Boys and Girls in the past like taking them out to eat and go out to entertainment events. One year, Cara and I went to Seminar at the Marriott in Melville to learn about Marketing and bringing people together to help run a business. We also stopped by the local shops and the malls and others parts of Long Island. Christine has also been an animal lover like she advocates to save horses that were abused and neglected. She thinks that she horses are like these people with disabilities that often felt neglected at times. We also went on journeys around The Hudson Valley for a road trip or a day trip to write an interesting blog. We sometimes host special events at Christine’s place for a major announcements and events.
The experience at the Office with Jon Dowding and his camera crew came to the office and did a news piece on Autisticana. Pano and I did an interview for over 20 minutes about life having Autism and having trouble finding the right people in grade school. Sometimes having Autism can be a rollercoaster depending on the situation in life, at the very least it helps you become more aware of your own person and focusing on your interests and needs. We also talked about working with Christine and how did Pano and I each got into Christine’s Blogging Group which we both started in 2021 but started few months apart. We also brought awareness and self advocacy for people on the Autism Spectrum to learn how to speak up for themselves. We talked about the importance of working as a team and helping the group together to learn and grow as an individual. We wanted the world to know that we can achieve our success to let society evolve and thrive for Individuals on the Autism Spectrum to have the opportunity to be famous and successful people in the future.
Everyone each had their turn to speak about the idea of Autisticana and brought in as many details as possible, while the News can only take 90 seconds for one segment. They highlighted the best clip to make people realize that they should support the News Media Team.
